A Genesect in Rain??
I need a moveset for Genesect in the Rain. I heard about Hidden Power [Water] but wouldn’t Techno Blast [Water] do more damage?

Genesect @ Douse DriveTrait: DownloadEVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 SpdModest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)- Techno Blast- Thunder- Bug Buzz- Rock Polish
Rock Polish is for the huge boost in speed, without being locked into a move with Choice Scarf. Thunder is self explantory. Bug Buzz is STAB. Techno Blast [Water] is boosted in Rain.
I’ll clarify for the HP Water situation.
Techno Blast water is stronger, but it requires you to fill up your item slot for just a little bit more base power in your water move.
Putting something like Life Orb in that slot gives not only HP Water higher damage, but also supports Genesect’s entire moveset as a sweeper.
Genesect@Life orbAbility: DownloadNature: TimidEVs: 252 Sp atk / 252 Spd 4 / HP
HP WaterThunderBug BuzzIce Beam
Life orb on this set is because of my personal preference of having Genesect be able to access bolt-beam without switching.HP Water gets the rain boost on power, Thunder gets a nice accuracy boost in rain.Bug Buzz is STAB. Ice Beam gets sweet coverage with Thunder. As trachy stated under Mike’s answer, Flamethrower is also a nice choice there.
A good Moveset would be:
Genesect@ Choice ScarfTrait:DownloadEVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 SpdHasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)- Bug Buzz/U-Turn- Thunder- Hidden Power [Water]- Ice Beam
HP Water over Techno Blast because without Choice Scarf, Genesect is easily outspeed and KOed. Bug Buzz and U-Turn are STAB, your choice on whether you want to hit hard or Scout, both doing massive damage with Download. Thunder with boosted Acc in Rain is dangerous especially with it outspeeding with the Choice Scarf. HP Water gets boosted by Rain, and nails Heatran on the switch. Ice Beam is needed on Genesect so it isn’t walled by Dragonite.
