Arceus and the jewel of life?

In the movie, Arceus lets go of his dragon plate, however Dialga, Palkia and Giratina uses dragon-type moves(i believe) so is it just me or is something wrong? The point is that they should be able to damage him but they cant?Also if they where using other moves, please mention which moves.

There are no sources which specifically state what moves they used that I can find but I believe personally that Dialga, Palkia and Giratina were all NOT using Dragon Type moves. My belief is;Dialga - Hyper Beam was the offensive move you saw it use that was kind of like Roar of Time, and Protect was the green bubbly shieldPalkia - Aura Sphere was the offensive move you saw it use, which looked somewhat similar to the action for Spacial Rend (Not sure if it used Hyper Beam too), and Protect the green bubbly shield.Giratina - Shadow Force and Aura Sphere were the offensive moves that it used in the Movie.

Dialga’sBulbapedia pagehas it’s only attacks used in Movies as Roar of Time, Draco Meteor, Hyper Beam and Protect, so I just threw the Dragon type moves out the window.

Palkia’sBulbapedia pagehas it’s only attacks used in Movies as Aura Sphere, Spacial Rend, Hyper Beam and Protect. Aura Sphere and Spacial Rend would look somewhat similar, except I think Spacial Rend expands out after Palkia throws it in an arc formation, while Aura Sphere remains a sphere.

Giratina’sBulbapedia pagehas it’s only Dragon Type- Attack as Dragon Claw. I don’t recall seeing Giratina go close up to Arceus and trying to swipe it with a claw qq. So yeah.

Okay I’ll tell you what exactly happened.

Bear in mind that these are each Pokémon’s move set:

Arceus:Judgment, Flamethrower, Twister, Blizzard

The first attack on Arceus was by Palkia. It used Aura Sphere which is a Fighting type move, so to negate the attack Arceus changed it’s type to Ghost as Fighting type moves doesn’t effect Ghost.

The second attack on Arceus was by Dialga. It used Hyper Beam on Arceus, so Arceus once again changed it’s type to Ghost as Ghost types are immune to Normal type moves.

The third attack on Arceus was by Pikachu. Pikachu’s attack actually worked as Arceus did not have it’s Earth and Zap Plates to negate the attack, since they were both used to construct the Jewel of Life.Source

The fourth attack on Arceus was by Giratina. Giratina used Will-O-Wisp so to negate this, Arceus changed it’s type to Fire since Will-O-Wisp does not effect Fire types.

The fifth attack on Arceus was again by Giratina. This time Giratina used Aura Sphere, so to negate the attack Arceus changed it’s type to Ghost as Ghost types are immune to Fighting type moves.

The sixth and final attack on Arceus was again by Giratina with it’s never say die attitute. It used Shadow Force to which Arceus successful dodged the attack.

Well do consider that the anime is different than the games.

Logically, that actually makes sense, since Arceus DID create them so he would have the power to be invincible to their attacks. Logically.
