Are 5-star solo raids very hard or impossible?

1 minute read

Applies both to Sw/Sh Max Raid Battles and S/V Tera Raid Battles.

In both cases, I have tried out most of these raids and it took multiple tries because of many Pokemon (mine and allies) fainting, the enemy Pokemon setting up tough barriers, and I got blown out of the dens for running out of time or having too many faints.

With the right Pokémon it is not hard but still not easy. They set I use for 5 star raid in scarlet is the following:

Iron Hands @ Expert BeltAbility: ProtosynthesisTera type: FightingEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 DefAdamant nature- Drain Punch- Wild Charge- Thunder Punch- Belly Drum

The plan is simple: set up belly Drum and spam drain punch, Wild Charge and Thunder Punch is coverage and some times works against flying and water types, but I suggest only battling normal, ice, rock, dark and steel as drain punch is super effective against all of them, expert belt boosts the power of drain punch as you will only he against super effective types. I don’t suggest booster energy as you will max out your attack with belly Drum.

Meanwhile for sword and shield any Pokémon should be fine if their EVs are maxed out correctly you should be fine, I recommend zacian/zamazenta with behemoth bash/blade or eternatus with dynamax cannon.
