Delcatty or Slaking for my Ruby in-game team?

I wanna use one of them in Ruby, but I can’t chose. Both of them are some of my favourite and normal types. Please help!

If this is for defeating Steven, then you should use Slaking.

I played ruby and omega ruby and I advise slaking all the way.Although the main disadvantage of it is it’s ability Truant can be a pain in the butt but it’s worth it. I gave mine a silk scarf at the beginning of the game .Delcatty isnt bad but slaking stats to it is a huge gap

Delcatty has a wider variety of moves it can learn by TM/HM, but Slaking has better stats, making it more powerful. However, the Truant ability hinders Slaking a lot while Delcatty’s Normalize and Cute Charm abilities both have useful effects in battle.

It’s really a question of which you’d prefer: a Pokémon with more coverage (Delcatty) or more power (Slaking). Personally, I’d go with Normalize Delcatty and a moveset based on the foes you expect to fight, which is very useful against in-game trainers. If you plan on fighting competitively against other players, I’d recommend Slaking, but there are a lot of Pokemon that work better in competitive battles.

Slaking-Even though the ability is garbage being truant. Has a decent speed, a monsterous attack, and decent defense, plus I think you can get it earlier. Slaking has amazing health. It can cover it’s weakness it can learn Aerial ace. Slaking has amazing coverage.

Delacatty-It’s only decent stat is speed, It’s got slightly better type coverage. None of the type coverage is great on it. It has all of it’s stats lower than Slaking, Delcatty is just awful.

It is clear Slaking is better.

It is super clear that you should pick Slaking

Slaking is better, period

Slaking has the highest attack stat in the game, higher than all of the Weather Trio and ontop of that its move-pool is wide and having great special attack makes it being able to use that to its advantage. Its ability Traunt does make it a bit lacking but trust me you can get around that and you will have one of the best if not the best psychical sweeper in the game

This move set will be your key to sweeping through a majority of the E4 especially Febes entire team of Ghost Types.

Delcatty sucks, period

Horrible attacking stats, mediocre bulk the only actual good stat it has is speed which is only what it has going for it, you could argue that it has a wide move pool but so does Slaking and its stats aren’t terrible unlike Delcattys and so do other Normal types such as Exploud, saying that it has access to some good status moves does not justify its horrible stats.

Although if you want to use it here’s the moveset…
