Does Ditto have to be the same level as the Pokémon trying to be bred?

And does it matter if the pair don’t like each other?

Let’s get this straight.All Pokemon who are not in theUndiscovered Egg Group(legends, babies, and a few others) always have a chance of getting an Egg when Breeding with Ditto.

The level thing isn’t true, you can breed a level 100 Gyarados with a level 1 Ditto and get an Egg that will hatch into a baby Magikarp.

As for them not liking each other, that simply means that there is a lower chance of getting an Egg from them every 255 steps (a 19.8% chance to be specific).

Except if the other Pokemon is a legendary Pokemon.

Ditto can breed under all circumstances, unless bred with a Pokemon in the ‘No Eggs’ egg group.

i.e.Hereare the Pokemon that Ditto can’t breed with.

Unless it’s one of them, (or it’s another Ditto itself) Ditto can always breed to produce a Pokemon of the opposing spouse’s species. Or, in simple terms, the Pokemon being ‘Ditto-bred’. :3
