Having problems catching Mewtwo in SoulSilver, any hints?

I have his health down low well into the red. And have used nearly 50 ultra balls and I still can’t catch him. I am using a level 81 dragonite.

Master Ball if you still have it on you. Otherwise make sure you bring lots of Ultra Balls and Healing items. Also having a Pokemon that can cause status(Sleep, Poison, Burn, Paralyses) would help a lot. Paralyses in my opinion is the best option there.

Try using Level balls Fast balls Timer balls or a Master ball if you haven’t used it

Here are some optionsPut him to sleep then lower the health. Then get a Pokemon with False Swipe then use it till 1 HP left. Timmer Balls work well in progressing battles. Quick Ball for the start of the battle. Use Dusk Balls.

I struggled a bit but I figured out a good way.

Bring at least 30 hyper potions and at least 10 revives.

Bring a Pokémon that knows the move Thunder Wave.

Bring lots of Dusk balls (because you’re in a cave)

If you still have your master ball, then use that.

You can find dusk balls at the shop in Mahogany Town.
