How good is Politoed competitively?
i really like politoed. but I dunno how popular he is competitive play please anwser

Politiad is a very useful support Pokemon is doubles, because of its ability Drizzle, which means it centers rain teams. However, in singles, weather is less effective, as is support. It has good defences but not another to stall. So, I’d say that in doubles it’s very good, it has access to Helping Hand, Ice Wind, Hypnosis, and other support moves. In singles, I wouldn’t say. It’s okay.
Basically, it wasn’t an ou Pokemon until gen 5 and was completely useless in gen 7, in singles anyway. Here’s a more in depth analysis about it

Politoad’s ability Drizzle makes it became an excellent and helpful teammate for rainy teams, which is pretty nice in double battles, and it could support those swift swim, rain dish user. In rain, the move Thunder and Hurricane would also never miss and it’s also could use belly drum which could be a strong psychical Pokemon.It’s good Sp.Def stat of 100 makes it also could be a decent stallerIt also got a pretty good movepool.

Politoed @ Damp RockAbility: DrizzleEVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 SpDBold NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Earth Power- Ice Beam- Scald- ToxicIt’s a good staller, so I use these evs to make it more better.Scald has a good chance of 30 to burned (makes the target loose 1/16% live each turn, halves the target’s psychical attacks)opponent, and it got decent power of 80, ice beam has good power of 90 and could covers its grass type weakness, Earth power has a great power of 90 and perfect acc same as Ice beam, it also covers electric type weakness.Toxic is for those super staller like blissy and eviolite chansey.
Also, Politoad was very good in gen 5 OU, but unfortunately , later in generation 6 to 8, new Pokemon cames and it’s tier was lower and lower. Also, Peliper and Kygore, which both has drizzle ability, was totoally outclassed Politoad, so use Peliper and Kygore if could.
