How Specific do you need to be with the destiny knot?

I have successfully bred 5 perfect IV Honedges, and Larvitars. For both Honedge and Larvitar I have used a 31/31/31/x/31/x + x/31/31/x/31/31 to get a common 5 Perfect IV.However, now that I’m on to breeding Marill’s, I can get no more than 4 perfect IVs. The combination I use varies fromx/31/31/x/31/31 + 31/31/x/x/31/31, to x/31/31/x/31/31 + 31/x/31/x/31/31. I haven’t used the same IV spread as I used for Honedge and Larvitar. (Yes I am properly using Destiny knot + Everstone for nature.) I can’t gett 5 perfect IVs. What is my issue? Can this detiny knot only pass 5 perfect IVs if the egg Pokemon is the lowest evolution (azumarill?). What am I doing wrong? I am on my 4th pc box using this combination.

I think your problem is that in all the IV spreads your using, none of them have a perfect IV stat in Sp. Atk. (I think it’s Sp. Atk, anyway)

If the order you presented is correct and such, then yeah, there’s one of your problems.The remaining IV that isn’t perfect is probably just the result of bad luck. Sorry. :(
