Hope I helped! This was a bloody nightmare to do. I had to count form Bulbapedia for at least 20 minutes! XD It’s okay, it makes me laugh if anything else! :)

Here’s my source:http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ash_KetchumI counted everything but Temporary Pokemon because he didn’t catch or even own those. I probably made a counting error at so me point because I’m not the best counter in out there, so you better double check my answer, comment any errors and I’ll edited them into the answers!

Me and my army of Ponytas are always glad to help! It’s fun! :)

Electric – Pikachu (S)Grass – Snivy (S), Sewaddle/Swadloon/Leavanny, Bulbasaur, Chikorita/Bayleef (S), Treeko/Grovyle/Sceptile (Pure), Turtwig/Grotle/TorterraWater – Oshawott ( S), Palpitod, Krabby/Kingler (S), Totodile (S), Corphish, Buizel, Squirtle,LaprasDragon – GibleFire – Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard, Tepig/Pignite (S), Cyndaquil/Quilava (S), Torkoal, Chimchar/Monferno/InfernapeFlying – Charizard, Taillow/Swellow, Gligar/Gliscor,Butterfree,Pidgeotto/PidgeotDark – Scraggy, Krokorok/KrookodileFighting – Scraggy, Heracross, Monferno/Infernape, Primeape (S)Bug - Sewaddle/Swadloon/Leavanny, Heracross,Caterpie/Metapod/ButterfreeRock – Roggenrola/BoldoreGround – Palpitoad, Krokorok/Krookodile, Donphan (S), Torterra, Gible, Gligar/GliscorPoison – Bulbasaur, MukNormal – Tauros x 30, Snorlax, Noctowl, Taillow/Swellow,Pidgeotto/Pidgeot, -Aipom-Psychic – NoctowlIce – Snorunt/Glalie,Lapras

That makes;- 1 Electric type- 6 Grass types- 8 Water types- 1 Dragon type- 5 Fire types- 5 Flying types- 2 Dark types- 4 Fighting types- 3 Bug types- 1 Rock type- 6 Ground types- 2 Poison types- 6 Normal types (technically 35 because of tauros)- 1 Psychic type- 2 Ice types- 0 Steel types

Remember these will not add up to the number of Pokemon Ash has, due to most of them having dual types. Italics means that the Pokemon was released, -Pokemonname- means it was traded away, (S) means it is only of one type and / means it evolved. Also Ash technically owned a Raticate through trade, but for only part of an episode as well as a Beedrill, and a Haunter/Larvitar who travelled and battled with him but were never actually caught.

Bulbapedia Sourceon Ash’s Pokemon, Microsoft Word and alot of counting :D

Ash caught:

Full-type Pokemon(evolutions not included)35 Normal (should be noted that he caught 30 Tauros in the Safari Zone)4 Fire7 Water5 Grass1 Electric1 Ice1 Fighting1 Poison1 Ground1 Flying0 Psychic1 Rock1 Ghost0 Dragon0 Dark0 Steel

Primary Dual-type Pokemon6 Normal0 Fire2 Water0 Grass0 Electric0 Ice0 Fighting0 Poison2 Ground0 Flying0 Psychic1 Rock0 Ghost1 Dragon1 Dark0 Steel

Secondary Dual-typed Pokemon0 Normal0 Fire0 Water2 Grass0 Electric1 Ice2 Fighting1 Poison3 Ground7 Flying (All secondary dual-typed Flying Pokemon have Normal as their first)0 Psychic0 Rock0 Ghost0 Dragon1 Dark0 Steel

NOTE: I did this with Microsoft Excel and it’s wonderful functions. :DAlso note that some of these Pokemon were not particularly caught, but by other methods like trading or hatching from an egg. However, all of these Pokemon were once in his possession (and were on the source)

Hope I helped. :)Source:http://www.serebii.net/anime/characters/ash.shtmland the wonderful Microsoft Excel
