You should go with Thunderbolt.

In Gen 5, Thunderbolt has 95 base power with 100% accuracy, while Charge Beam has 50 and only 90% accuracy.

Basically, not only is it significantly stronger, but also it’s going to hit more often, alongside a chance of paralysis.

I would say that thunderbolt is better. For starters, even though it can’t boost special attack, it sure as heck does big damage. First, you can paralyze, which can be very useful in this generation. Secondly, it is one hundred percent accurate. Charge Beam is also horribly weak.

With this, I would say T-Bolt is better.

If we assume this is in-game, then Thunderbolt all the way. It has a far higher base power, it’s more accurate, and many 2HKOs will turn into OHKOs if you opt for that over Charge Beam. You should only use Charge Beam if you cannot get Thunderbolt for some reason.

Competitively, Thunderbolt is still better. The boost you can get from Charge Beam is not nearly as good as KOing opponents so much faster. This isn’t to say Charge Beam is bad (though it really is, a lot of the time), but there’s no reason to use it over Thunderbolt.

Here’s an in-game set:

Magnezone @ anythingAbility: Sturdy- Thunderbolt- Flash Cannon- Tri Attack- Thunder Wave / Signal Beam

Hope I helped!

Thunderbolt.

Giga~Blade X himself tells in many of his posts that in-game is all about offense. You shouldn’t worry about boosting your SpA—it already has a beasty SpA of 130 which makes it a great attacker in-game. Charge Beam isn’t worth the go, it hits a lot less hard and the increase of SpA isn’t always guaranteed—only 50%. Thunderbolt has more higher BP, which makes it a better choice. Here’s a set for it:

Magnezone @ Magnet / AnythingAbility: SturdyModest Nature (doesn’t matter in-game)

Hope this helps!
