Is Stunfisk viable in any team whatsoever?
I got it in a Random Battle once and realised that it had rather respectable bulk.I was thinking of giving it an Assault Vest and investing fully in Defence but its attacking movepool just doesn’t cut it.Could I have some advice for using Stunfisk (or any otheruselessPokémon for that matter) in competitive battling. Trolling is my favourite ;)

Annd, a lead.Stunfisk @ LeftoversAbility: StaticCalm NatureEVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 SpA-Stealth Rock-Toxic-Earth Power-Thunderbolt
Not the best lead against Gligar / Gliscor.
Before I begin, I would ike to say that Stunfisk has pretty much no use that another Pokémon can’t do better. Landorus-I and Thundurus-T are both vastly superior Special attackers, while Milotic does better bulky speed control and Raikou has more bulk. But since you said you like to troll around…
You want to Assault Vest troll some n00bs? Then getrektready forAssault Vest Trollfisk.

Here’s the ultimate test of you Pokémon skillz, competitive Stunfisk.Assault Vestlets you tank hits4dayz.Staticis the ultimate troll ability. Imagine a Mega Metagross giving your team trouble. You switch Stunfisk into Iron Head andboom!Get rekt by paralysis m8. The EVs and nature buff Stunfisk’s lower defence, while AV boosts his respectabe Sp. Defence.Earth Poweris Ground STAB, with that tiny chance to lower Sp. Defence and let you get one last quickscope in.Dischargeessentially doubles your chance to paralyze Physical attackers.
Now we get to the good stuff.Scaldis that cheap move that has a 30% chance to Burn. If you put together all of Stunfisk’s abilities to inflict status, you get90%(30% Discharge, 30% Static and 30% Scald). That’s what I like to call

Finally, for the grand finale, we haveragequitFissure. Open scenario:
It’s team deathmatch. Your team is down five members and so is theirs. It’s winner-takes-all. You’re at 5% HP and they’re full. He’s Paralyzed, so you’ll move first. Despite that, you know you’ll never KO him. And he knows it too. He selects his weapon of choice, dropping down for the kill and the win.
Imagine the shock on his face when you noscope that scrub with Fissure.
Yep, that’s about it for Stunfisk. He has a very small, amusing role to play competitively and makes a good troll, but other than that he’s pretty trashy.
Although there are Pokemon that do very similar things to Stunfish, but more effectively Stunfish can offer some good Defensive Support
Stunfisk @ LeftoversAbility: StaticEVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpDBold Nature- Stealth Rock- Discharge- Earth Power- Toxic
This is a nice set that Stunfish can play quite nicely,it sets up some Harzard Entries and quickly cripple other Pokemon with Toxic. To prevent getting Shut Down by Taunt Discharge and Earth Power are some strong solid Moves thats also topped with STAB.
Stunfish can also dish some considerbale amount of damage with some Choice Specs.

Yes, Stunfisk is actually very good in all electric meta games, being the only electric type with STAB earth Power / EQ. This is why it is picking up popularity in thee recent Pikachu Cup :D
AHEM, no.
While having good bulk, Stunny will never know speed. He COULD take advantage of E-Quake but he also won’t ever know Attack. So many others outclass his Defs. and Speed. Good HP & Defs. is nothing to brag about if you don’t have recovery moves. His weakness to Ground and bad Def. asks for an E-Quake. I feel I’ve made my point. Don’t use em'.
