Is the information about Pokémon on the bottom corner of Pokémon cards the same as one of it’s Pokédex entries?

And if so, does it use a Pokédex entry from the generation of games released when the card series came out?

I checked the below cards, and the flavor text at the bottom of them matches the game that was most recent at the time of release. The last three listed came out when US/UM were the most recent games, however, they do not have Pokedex entries in those games.
