Is there a purpose of the P2 Laboratory besides obtaining the Dubious Disc?

Besides getting the dubious disc,what is the point of the p2 laboratory?

There is more of a story of the P2 Laboratory than usefulness. Here is the story:

Upon entering the Lab with Genesect in the party, a Scientist named Dudley will appear and become surprised that the player has the Pokémon of the canceled project that he was working on. He will request a battle with the player, then hand over two Drives (depending on game version) after being defeated.

Obviously Genesect is yet to be released, but this is what will happen. Also, outside of the P2 Laboratory is TM Thunderbolt.
