Is training a special deino worth it?

the other day while I was doing wonder trade and I got a japanese deino and it had dark pulse and dragon rage with it (along with the other moves) and it was level one . should I train it up to hydreigon?also what would be a good moveset for if so?

Hydreigon is an excellent Pokemon, despite its 4x weakness to Fairy Types. Common moveset for it:

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf/Life Orb/Choice Specs252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 HPU-Turn/SurfFire BlastDark PulseDraco Meteor/Dragon Pulse

You could replace a move with Flash Cannon to deal with Fairy Types. It needs the Scarf to outspeed some threats, but if you want more juice go with either of the other moves.I suggest you check out our Hydreigon moveset thread for more ideas.

Yes, Hydreigon is a very powerful special attacker, although it has often been used as a mixed attacker. There are many good options for it in-game including, Dragon pulse, Surf, Fire Blast, U-Turn, Draco Meteor, Focus Blast, Earth Power, Flash Cannon and Dark Pulse.

For an in-game set I would suggest,

Hydreigon @ Life Orb (or whatever doesn’t matter much)Trait: LevitateEVs (if you EV train): 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HPTimid Nature- Draco Meteor/Dragon Pulse- Earth Power- Fire Blast- Surf/Dark Pulse

Go for Surf if you don’t have another Pokemon who can use Surf. Fire Blast and Earth Power make great coverage, while Draco Meteor and Pulse are your choices of STAB with the first having a drawback (lowers special attack) but more power than the second.
