Pokemon X/Y: Is it actually possible to transfer more than 3 parent IVs?
In multiple online threads people are saying when you breed with one parent holding the destiny knot, 5 IVs can be transferred to the child from both parents. When they said this they were all implying that it was definite. Are the chances of this very slim? For example:I am breeding-Ditto@Destiny Knot 31/31/x/x/31/x + Honedge(Adamant)@Everstone x/x/31/x/x/31However my eggs never have more than 3 perfect IVs? I’ve been through 3 PC boxes using this and other combinations of 3+ perfect IVs and never more than 3 Perfect IVs appear on the child. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to do?

Another new feature is the furthering of IV transfer. Previously, when the parent Pokémon had power items attached, it guaranteed the transfer of one of the IVs, while several IVs were guaranteed to pass down. However, as of X & Y, if you have one of the parents hold the Destiny Knot item, then 5 IVs total from either parent will be guaranteed to be transferred
Therefore, the Destiny Knot can make the parents pass down 5 IVs to the offspring. To confirm your query, they don’t pass down the highest IVs, they can still pass down the x IVs. Did you know that? Or am I missing something? xD
Hope I helped. :)Source
