What are the best HM slaves for Platinum?

The best HM slave is definitelyBibarel, capable of learning Cut, Surf, Strength, Rock Smash, Waterfall, and Rock Climb. Bidoof and Bibarel are common and obtainable early.Tropiusis available later, in the Great Marsh, and learns Cut, Fly, Strength, Defog, and Rock Smash, perfectly complementing your beaver. Alternatively,Starlycan learn both HMs that Bibarel can’t and is also available before the first Gym, but it doesn’t do anything Tropius can’t.

A good “team” of HM slaves is one Bibarel and one Tropius, which together learn all eight HM moves and allow you to manage experience among a smaller battling party of four members.

A slightly worse team of HM slaves consists of two Bibarel and one Starly, which allows you to teach every available HM with Pokemon available earlier. This has little practical bearing, however, as many HMs aren’t obtainable until after you catch Tropius anyway.

Considering how many moves one can lean,Prinpluplearn6 in 8, except rock climb and FlyEmpoleonis the best HM, learning7 HMs except Fly

Considering thesource and comboBibarel / Empoleon + Tropius will be the best.

Also, considering timeline as below:> After 3rd Gym, Breed Empoleon at Solaceon City> After 4th Gym, [Fly] available> Before/After 5th Gym (Great Marsh), Catch Tropius>Before 6th Gym, Move Deleterto delete HMs.

If one get a female Piplup and bad natureBreed a better one and use the starter as HM slave will also make senseThe new Piplup will still catch up considering its just 3 gym.And the starter Prinplup can level up and become Empoleon in breeding centre, which is quite simple as well.
