Nah, I’m just kidding. I would actually suggest Ampharos. It gets an array of moves and can Mega Evolve into a part Dragon type which is amazing. It has a great HP and Special Attack which makes up for its poor speed. You kow what you’ll get out of Amphy, a bulky special attacker.
Ampharos @ AmpharositeTrait: Static —> Mold BreakerEVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpDModest Nature- Thunderbolt- Volt Switch- Dragon Pulse- Hidden Power / Focus Blast
If you ignore EVs and Natures and all that, just disregard it and go for just the moves.
You can get Thunderbolt from a TM by beating the Lumiose City GymYou can get Volt Switch from a TM from the Battle Maisonyou can get Dragon Pulse at level 65You can get Hidden Power from a TM in Anistar City, but if you get a bad type, go for Focus Blast which is in a TM at the Anistar City PokeMart.
You can catch Mareep in Route 12 and evolve into Flaffy at level 20 and Ampharos in 10 more levels.
You can get The Ampharosite in Azure Bay.
Magnezone @ LeftoversAbility: Sturdy (as steel types are rare in game an the AI rarely switchesm Sturdy is superior to Magnet PullEVs: If you desire, focus on HP and Special AttackModest Nature- Thunderbolt- Flash Cannon- Substitute/Thunder Wave- HP Fire/HP Ice/HP Ground/Thunder Wave
In terms of pure resistances, Magnezone is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. In fact it has a whopping eleven resistances in addition to a poison immunity. It also has very solid bulk to back said resistances, granted it’s three weakness, fire, ground and fighting, are common. It may caught as a Magneton in the lost hotel and evolved by leveling it up at Route 13. With Magnezone’s low speed, substitute grants you a means of protection when facing faster and potentially harmful opponents. Thunder Wave grants you a means of harmlessly statusing wild Pokemon, and with its great defensive typing and bulk, Magnezone is great as status support. If available, the listed hidden powers greatly augment Magnezone’s otherwise mediocre coverage, but they are not necessary.
I’ve found success usingHeliolisk.It has great speed and special attack, and has Rain Dance to power up Surf and give 100% accuracy to Thunder, along with Dry Skin restoring HP every turn. Surf and Thunder also allow it to hit the majority of Pokemon for neutral or super effective damage.
Here is the set I recommend using;
Heliolisk @ Damp Rock/ Zap PlateAbility: Dry SkinEVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 SpdTimid Nature- Rain Dance- Thunder- Surf- Focus Blast/ Dark Pulse/ Hidden Power
Note: The EVs and Nature are optional in-game.
Did someone say Electric type?
Emolga @ no itemAbility: StaticEVs & Nature omitted for in-game use- Volt Switch- Roost/ Light Screen- Acrobatics- Thunderbolt
You get one on Route 10, and Emolga learns everything except Roost and T-bolt by level up; Roost you can get from the TM quiz at Coumarine City, T-bolt from beating Lumiose Gym. Emolga’s also great in sky battles because of its Electric STAB and random Jumpluffs. Just be careful of random Aerodactyls…
You also don’t need an item because Acrobatics is at base power 110 without an item, though you could give Emolga a Magnet/ Zap Plate.
