Chandelure @ Life OrbAbility: Flash FireEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Flamethrower / Heat Wave- Hex- Will-O-Wisp- Energy Ball
Flash Fire: adds another immunity, increases power of fire moves, and works as a great switch-in
No one has tried this. (I don’t think)
Chandelure @ Life OrbAbility: InfiltratorTimid NatureEVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 Hp
You dearly need to outspeed the opponent for this set to be at its full potential. Use Substitute on the first turn to scout. Then, you can either set up with Calm Mind or Pain Split to heal off damage from Life Orb and Substitute. Flamethrower is for Fire STAB, and Shadow Ball is for Ghost STAB.
Chandelure @ Choice ScarfAbility: Flash FireEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature• Trick• Shadow Ball• Fire Blast• Calm Mind
This is meant to switch in on a fire type move, though a normal/fighting move works just fine. Switch in, get flash fire boost, lock them on to the fire move with trick, and calm mind while they switch.
Gen 8 NFETrick Room Set for LampentLampent @ EvioliteAbility: InfiltratorEVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpDQuiet NatureIVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe- Shadow Ball- Flamethrower- Calm Mind- Trick Room
With Lampent’s base speed of 55, it can outspeed some Pokémon in Trick Room. Shadow Ball and Flamethrower are STAB moves. Calm Mind is to boost your Special Attack. You can setup Trick Room if you predict that the opponent is going to switch.
Chandelure @ LeftoversAbility: Flash FireEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature• Substitute• Minimize• Calm Mind• Flamethrower
Very gimmicky set. If you think the opponent is about to use a non damaging move, hide behind a substitute. Minimize lets you evade attacks so you can set up Calm Mind. Flamethrower is STAB.
This move set can be used effectively, and is also versatile. It makes up for Chandelure’s short comings and can also screw your opponent over. It may look familiar, though…
Chandelure (M/F) @ Choice ScarfAbility: Flash FireEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid / Modest Nature- Fire Blast- Energy Ball- Shadow Ball- Trick
Chandelure has decent defenses and stellar Special Attack, but low Speed. That combination screams Choice Scarf to me; this guy is like a Specail Darminitan.Simple: hit hard with STAB attacks or pound cocky Rock, Ground, and/or Water types. Trick anyone who dares set up, of they survive.*Chamdelure is immune to BOTH of Ferrothorn’s weaknesses, so pairing the two is a good combination as Ferrothorn resist all of its weaknesses.
Caramel (Chandelure) @ Life OrbAbility: InfiltratorEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Flamethrower- Shadow Ball- Energy Ball- Memento
Infiltrator is Chandelure’s best ability imo because you get to ignore screens. You can use Flash Fire or Flame Body if you want, though. I put the Life Orb on Chandelure because I wasn’t sure what else to use, and extra damage is always nice. Flamethrower and Shadow Ball are STAB, Energy Ball covers Water, Ground and Rock, and Memento is for when Chandelure is almost dead and you need something to weaken the opponent’s Pokémon. I’ve been using this Moveset on my most recent team, and it’s been working pretty well.
Chandelure @ Firium ZAbility: Flash FireEV’s: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeModest Nature- Flamethrower- Shadow Ball- Solar Beam- Sunny Day
From my mono-color team:
Chandelure @ Choice SpecsAbility: InfiltratorEVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpeTimid Nature- Flamethrower- Giga Drain- Shadow Ball- Psychic
Best used with a Pokemon with Quiver Dance and Baton Pass (I use Venomoth). Once you setup the quiver dance buffs, baton pass to chandelure, and let it sweep.
Chandelure @ Expert BeltEVs: Flame BodyEVs: 252 HP / 6 Def or SpD / 252 SpAModest Nature- Flamethrower- Sunny Day- Solar Beam- Shadow Ball / Hidden Power [Fighting]
Or, another would be:
Lampent @ EvioliteAbility: Flame BodyEVs: 6 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpDBold / Calm Nature- Swagger- Facade- Shadow Ball- Minimize
This is probably the only Chandelure set I run:
Chandelure @ Choice ScarfAbility: InfiltratorShiny: YesEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Fire Blast- Shadow Ball- Energy Ball- Trick
Fire Blast and Shadow Ball are good STAB moves. Energy Ball covers Water, Ground, and Rock types. Trick is for crippling an opposing wall.
Soul Eater (Chandelure)@ Choice ScarfAbility: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Energy Ball- Shadow Ball- Psychic- Fire Blast
When used as a lead and with the right prediction, this thing can be a MONSTER. With choice scarf it can outspeed ANY non-scarfer for what I know (It can outspeedNinjask.)Pair up with hypnosis and nasty plot gengar for a death duo.Dynamax for more mass murder.
National Dex UUChandelure @ Firium ZAbility: Flash FireEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Calm Mind- Fire Blast / Overheat- Shadow Ball- Energy Ball
Calm Mind + Firium Z set. Flash Fire allows you to switch into fire moves such as Will-o-Wisp and Flamethrower from opposing Pokémon. Calm Mind boosts your attack and defense. Fire Blast is powerful STAB. Overheat can be used for more breaking power, but keep in mind it drops your special attack by 2 stages. However, Overheat can be used for a powerful 195 BP Inferno Overdrive. Fire Blast into Inferno Overdrive is 185 BP, which is a 10 BP difference, which isn’t really that bad. Shadow Ball is ghost STAB. Energy Ball is for coverage against water types like Swampert and hits them super effectively.
Chandelure @ LeftoversAbility: Flash FireEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Flamethrower- Shadow Ball- Calm Mind- Substitute
Flash Fire makes you immune to 3 typings, meaning Blaziken and Infernape STAB can’t do anything to you. Set up sub and try to get off Calm Mind if you can predict a switch. Flamethrower and Shadow Ball easy STAB; one of the most broken sets I’ve ever used.
Gen 9 NU Choice SpecsChandelure @ Choice SpecsAbility: Flash FireTera Type: FireEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Overheat- Flamethrower- Shadow Ball- Energy Ball
A Choice Specs set Chandelure can use in Gen 9 NU. Choice Specs makes Chandelure’s attacks hit really hard due to its base 145 Special Attack. Overheat is Chandelure’s strongest STAB move, being a powerful nuke move than can OHKO Specially Defensive Registeel and being able to break past Pokemon such as Gligar and Mudsdale. Flamethrower is used for a more reliable STAB move that is consistent should Chandelure not need the power from Overheat. Shadow Ball is used for a Ghost STAB that is useful to hit Pokemon who resist Fire moves such as Flygon, Dragalge, Delphox, Arcanine, Salazzle, and Tauros-Paldea-Aqua. Energy Ball allows Chandelure to hit Diancie super effectively as well as Pokemon who use Tera Water. Flash Fire lets Chandelure switch in to fire moves and get a boost to its Fire moves. Tera Fire is used to make Chandelure’s Fire STABs stronger, making Overheat a really powerful move.
Gen 9 NU Will-O-Wisp + HexChandelure @ Heavy-Duty BootsAbility: Flash FireTera Type: FairyEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Will-O-Wisp- Hex- Flamethrower- Pain Split
A Will-O-Wisp + Hex set Chandelure can use in Gen 9 NU. Will-O-Wisp lets Chandelure spread a status move that cripples physical wallbreakers with a burn. Hex is used for the Ghost STAB since it is paired with Wil-O-Wisp, making Hex have double the power. Flamethrower is used for a consistent Fire STAB since it doesn’t have any drawbacks such as accuracy or lowering Chandelure’s Special Attack. Pain Split lets Chandelure get some HP back, being useful against checks such as Meleotta and Umbreon. Flash Fire is used for the Ability since it gives Chandelure a Fire immunity, which is useful against Sun teams and other Fire-types in the tier such as Arcanine and Salazzle. Tera Fairy allows Chandelure to resist Dark moves. Dragalge pairs well with this set, as it can setup Toxic Spikes to spread status, which is useful for Chandelure’s Hex. Dragalge also lures in Steel-types, which it can use Flip Turn on them to bring in Chandelure.
Gen 9 NU 3 Attacks + Speed Boosting MoveChandelure @ Heavy-Duty BootsAbility: Flash FireTera Type: GrassEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Flame Charge / Trailblaze- Flamethrower- Shadow Ball- Energy Ball
Does Choice Scarf Chandelure make you wish you could switch moves? Do you want a set that’s basically its Choice Scarf set that can freely switch moves? Do you wish Chandelure had more speed while not being weak to Stealth Rock? If any of these apply, here is a set Chandelure can use. This is a 3 Attacks set + Flame Charge (Or Trailblaze) set. Flame Charge may sound useless on a Pokemon with base 55 Attack, butFlame Charge is used for the speed boost it provides.Having Tera opens up more opportunities for Chandelure to use Flame Charge. With the speed boost from Flame Charge, Chandelure can have the speed boost (or boosts if you manage to get more than one), meaning it can use Heavy-Duty Boots to avoid taking damage from hazards as well as being able to use different moves without being locked into one move. You can use Trailblaze instead of Flame Charge since the set’s Tera is Grass. The rest of the moves are the typical attacking moves you’ll see on Choice Scarf Chandelure. Flamethrower is used for the Fire STAB since it is consistent, which is useful should Chandelure need to revenge kill a Pokemon with a Fire STAB. Shadow Ball is used for the Ghost STAB that’s spammable. Energy Ball allows Chandelure to hit Diancie, Tauros-Paldea-Aqua, and Inteleon super effectively. Tera Grass allows Chandelure to resist Water moves and have a strong STAB option in Energy Ball.
Important Note:Flame Charge/Trailblaze isn’t used for, I repeat, ISN’T used for doing as much damage as possible. Flame Charge/Trailblaze is used for the speed boost so Chandelure can outspeed faster Pokemon without having to use a Choice Scarf to do so.
Gen 9 NU 3 Attacks + MementoChandelure @ Air BalloonAbility: Flash FireTera Type: SteelEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Fire Blast- Shadow Ball- Energy Ball- Memento
Someone else came up with this set, but I’ve been enjoying this set, so I’m posting it here. This is a 3 attacks + Memento set that works nicely on Sticky Web teams as an offensive support Pokemon, being a Spinblocker and a nice breaker. Fire Blast is used for a powerful Fire STAB. You can use Flamethrower for a consistent Fire STAB if you don’t mind giving up the power. Shadow Ball is used for the Ghost STAB that pairs well with Fire Blast since the combination is only resisted by Incineroar. Energy Ball allows Chandelure to hit Water- and Ground-types such as Swampert, Krookodile, Rhyperior, Gastrodon, and Quagsire super effectively. Should you not need Chandelure anymore, you can use Memento to lower the attacking stats of opposing Pokemon, allowing a setup sweeper to have more safety setting up. Air Balloon gives Chandelure a temporary Ground immunity, letting Chandelure come in on a predicted Ground move or a Pokemon that is Choice locked into a Ground move. Tera Steel lets Chandelure resist Rock moves, which can be useful if Chandelure still has its Air Balloon.
Chandelure @ Assault VestTera: FireAbility: InfiltratorEVs: 252 Sp. Atk/252 Spd/4 HPModest Nature-Flamethrower-Shadow Ball-Calm Mind-Minimize
This is the set I’m using for the Trick Magic competition in s/v next weekend. Infiltrator because you don’t want to deal with those pesky light screens. Assault Vest to tank special attacks better, and pairs nicely with calm mind. Flamethrower is fire STAB. Shadow Ball ghost STAB. Calm mind, as I said, pairs well with Assault Vest. Minimize to get off some free attacks and calm minds.
