What is a good moveset for Comfey?

Comfey seems to suffer from a distinct lack of being able to do anything special. 110 Special Defence would be solid for lower tiers like RU and NN when they exist fully, but as of right now in higher tiers and Wifi it’s nothing to shout about. 100 speed is pretty nice for a defensive mon but unless you really want role compression it’s not a huge selling point. It also doesn’t get any special moves beyond Leech Seed, Calm Mind, Taunt and Aromatherapy. Fairy typing is good though. Just wish it was Fairy/Grass so it’s related moves and abilities would be more viable.
Since Comfey doesn’t have an official tier yet and RU being in Beta, I’m going to base the moveset on UU, so the EVs and Natures will probably have to change at some point.

Triage seems like an interesting ability but to be honest being able to pivot in and out of status is more valuable. EVs are to avoid 2HKO’s from Amoongus and Tenta so it can pivot them easier. A fast Taunt is super useful for shutting down walls like the aforementioned two and Blissey. The second slot is for your choice of reliable healing for better pivoting, wearing down enemies whilst increasing longevity or providing team support. The third is the same again but Toxic is recommended unless you really need role compression as it helps Comfey be a not trash tier Stallbreaker in junction with Taunt. U-Turn helps it be a pivot while Dazz dents stuff like Krook.
Honestly I should really split it’s two roles separate but Comfey really doesn’t excel at either so I might as well throw them together and call it Fast Utility.

Explanation: Triage is a cool Ability that gives +3 Priority to healing moves.Synthesis is for healing and has Priority with Triage. Calm Mind raises Special Attack and Special Defense by 1 stage each. Energy Ball is Water-, Rock-, and Ground-type coverage. Draining Kiss is STAB and also Priority with Triage.

With Comfey’s Ability Triage, I don’t feel like you need to invest in Comfey’s speed that much. Draining Kiss is STAB. Giga Drain is useful for dealing with Rock, Ground, and Water types. Calm Mind boosts your Special Attack and Special Defense. Stored Power gains power when you use Calm Mind multiple times and is useful for dealing with Poison types switching in.

I think that this Pokémon has good special attack and could be possibly used to get some damage out on other ‘mons. This set is a bit different than most. I recommend using Modest Nature, but Timid is always an option.

Synthesis: Access to Triage and Synthesis, Comfey Is Uneasy to take down If your team has a Special attacker with a super-effective move, Sadly has 8 PP.Draining Kiss: Stab move which uh.. has the same power as Giga Drain because It’s weak, but still a good check for fighting types!Giga Drain: Quagsire Counter, If you use Calm mind, you could also try and KillJellicent,the best Pokemon In PU.Calm Mind: Since Comfey’s Special Attack Is not that great, you need calm mind to boost that special attack and start sweeping.
You could also go for Stored Power for Powerful Damage with Calm Mind.
Ok, this moveset is seen a bit during the current meta in doubles.

Honestly, I think Comfey is a great Pokémon in doubles (but is not that great in singles). The extra priority given by Triage is amazing for healing moves, making it good for doubles when you heal something like a +4 Def and SpD Toxapex, or a Belly Drum Snorlax. Given the right setup it can also be used as a good Helping Hand supporter, but it will not stay on the field for as long unless you have a recovery move. If you find this is a good moveset give me a response with your feedback. All is appreciated even if it’s in telling me a better moveset than this.

Draining Kiss as STAB. Giga Drain as coverage. Calm Mind to boost stats and Hidden Power [Ground] to cover all weaknesses.
This is a similar set toSphere_of_Aura’smoveset, but modified to be a sub-seed / revenge killer hybrid.
This moveset is designed to deal chip damage with its teammates until they are in range to be cleaned up with it’s priority moves thanks to Triage and possibly a Life Orb to increase its damage. Since there is no coverage against Poison, Steel, Grass, and Fire types, it loves to have Ground- or Fire-type teammates, who help against those Pokémon and like its capabilities to stop bulky Water-types, as well as Ground- and Rock-types. Grassy Terrain can help its longevity, and Giga Drain for damage, but it may not be worth the trouble depending on your team because it heals the opposing team too. Aromatherapy can be needed sometimes, although it’s not preferred, and Charm is to make up for its mediocre physical bulk and force switches. The extra 20 Speed is for outspeeding max Speed Jolly Incineroar.

This set is simple, first, use leech seed for good recovery in each turn with leftovers. Than, use calm mind, the 252 HP will let you hold more hits. After all the stat boost, use Draining kiss, because of the ability Triage, this Pokemon will almost always move first.Check and Counter:strong steel, poison type could easily let this Pokemon fainted, and grass type was immune to leech seed.
Ok, this moveset is mainly for doubles as a healer. I don’t know how useful this Pokemon will be for singles though.

Floral Healing is quite obvious. Use it to heal your ally with priority.
Next, either Leech Seed or Synthesis or Giga Drain. Synthesis and Giga Drain will get priority due to Triage. Synthesis to recover the bulk of your HP, Giga Drain for healing as well as priority damage and coverage. Otherwise, Leech Seed also works, although it’s not priority.
Draining Kiss for priority damage as well as STAB. This move works well for Pokémon who are weak to Fairy-type and does fair chip damage to others.
Substitute for protection. Behind Substitute you can’t get statused, except for the rare Infiltrator Pokémon. Also, there are enough priority healing moves to keep the Substitute. Once behind Substitute, this can be a pain to deal with.
So, overall I think this Pokémon can fit in any team quite nicely and provide healing support and to save one of its teammate’s moveslots, which may had been used for healing move.

Ok. You’re probably thinking, “Trick Room on a base 100 speed Pokemon. Why?” Let me explain. Draining Kiss is STAB and has the Triage Ability, so you’ll be moving first when you use it. Calm Mind is for use outside of Trick Room when you get the opportunity to. Trick Room allows Comfey to get in a “slow” U-Turn to bring a Trick Room sweeper in saftley. Gimmiky, but can be effective if you manage to pull it off.

Doubles/Triples support. Like the obvious purpose. Draining Kiss become priority (even goes first than Extreme Speed), plus STAB and 75% Damage would be healed. Calm Mind can make you survive longer as well as become deadlier with Priority Draining Kiss. Safeguard prevents all status conditions and Floral Healing can help allies.
Helping Hand can be an option if you have someone who has Safeguard already.

A Substitute set with Leech Seed and Calm Mind on them. These sets have been seeing use recently that can allow Comfey to force chip damage on its checks. Substitute allows you to avoid status conditions. Leech Seed is to force chip damage on most opposing Pokemon switching in and serves as a form of HP recovery. Calm Mind is for boosting your special attack and special defense. Draining Kiss is STAB that is boosted by Triage and allows you not to become complete Taunt bait.

Calm Mind gives a good boost. Draining Kiss is STAB and with Triage, will almost always go first. Giga Drain is Triage coverage, but you can opt for Synthesis (priority healing) or Substitute. Tera Blast (Fire or Ground) covers for steel types that otherwise wall it.
