There are many different sets you can pull off effectively withGranbull, but this one has worked for me. It doesn’t feel right not teaching moves such asOutrage&Close Combatwhen they’re available. It’s tempting to use aFlame Orb, Quick Feet & Jollyset including all it’s hard hitting moves but I feel like otherFairytypes likeAzumarill & Mawiledo a better job.
This set is designed to take hits but also get rid of threats that set up, there’s been countless times where I can switch intoDragoniteorGyaradosfor example andRoarthem out after I take a weakened hit because ofIntimidate.
Play RoughStandard main STAB move.
Bulk UpRaisesDefenseand already awesomeAttackto turn it into a tank
EarthquakeGood coverage and also takes care ofPoison + Steelweaknesses
RoarMove aside threats and their status boosts, effective with hazards up. Also get rid of walls and it’s unexpected

Bulk Up: boosts its Defense, which makes it a better wall, plus it boosts its Attack
Return: attacking move
Thunder Wave: Cripples walls and sweepers + supporters

Play Rough:STAB, good move in general.Close Combat:Hits Hard and good coverage sense Fighting is super effective a decent amount of types including steel, one of its weaknesses.Earthquake:Ground type moves are super effective against both of its weaknesses Steel and Poison and its a great move.Crunch:For Coverage
So this set is easily walled by Flying types so you could replace Crunch for Rock Slide/Stone Edge/Wild Charge to hopefully shutdown said Flying types.
In VGC16, this thing can tank a +2critdazzling gleam from Xerneas!

Play Rough is good, powerful STAB, Crunch has a good KO chance on Aegislash (87%). Close Combat has a 90% KO chance on MegaKang, Rock Slide can KO Talon too.

This moveset tries to utilize Granbull as a sweeper that can outspeed other Pokemon. Toxic Orb activates Quick Feet, but unfortunately puts Granbull on a timer. Play Rough is STAB. Earthquake deals with steel, poison, and fire types, as they resist Granbull’s STAB Play Rough. Stone Edge is further coverage that makes the EdgeQuake combo.
Gen 8 BDSP RUGranbull @ LeftoversAbility: IntimidateEVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 DefImpish Nature- Play Rough- Heal Bell- Rest- Sleep Talk
This is a support set Granbull can use in BDSP RU. Play Rough provides Granbull with STAB. Heal Bell provides team support by healing the status conditions your teammates got inflicted with. Rest lets you recover HP. Sleep Talk can be used to land on Heal Bell, as you’ll wake up from sleep should Sleep Talk lands on Heal Bell.
