Komala @ LeftoversAbility: ComatoseEVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpDCareful Nature- Return / Brick Break- Shadow Claw- Bulk Up- Wish

Another simple set. Spam Bulk Up to raise your stats & use Wish when necessary. Return can be used as STAB and gets great neutral coverage with Shadow Claw, only being resisted by 4 Pokemon. Brick Break provides more coverage overall, especially with Shadow Claw, but you will then be left without STAB.

Future Note: If this eventually gets Drain Punch via Move Tutors in another game, use that instead of Brick Break.

Komala @ Choice BandAbility: ComatoseEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 DefAdamant Nature- Sleep Talk- Last Resort

Explanation: Now that Move Tutors are back in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, Komala gets access to Last Resort. Komala can use Sleep Talk without being asleep because of Comatose making it already asleep and Sleep Talk has more PP than Last Resort. Last Resort is powerful STAB. I also ran some calcs if anyone is curious about it. Its just a gimmicky set that I thought it would be fun to try out.

252+ Atk Choice Band Komala Last Resort vs. 252 Hp / 192+ Def Toxapex: 192-226 (63.1 - 71.3%) – Guaranteed 2HKO

What do you guys think?

Komala is an interesting Pokemon. It’s ability, Comatose allows it to avoid the common Will-O-Wisp and Toxic. It gets access to Sucker Punch, Wood Hammer, Rock Slide and Earthquake so its killing power isn’t hopeless. Without further ado, I exhibit my Komala Moveset!

Komala (Komala The Koala) @ LeftoversAbility: ComatoseEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 DefAdamant NatureIVs: 0 SpA- Sucker Punch- Wish / Yawn- Wood Hammer / Return- Rock Slide / Earthquake / Return

Sucker Punch is self-explanatory. It has +2 Priority, so it will get past the (less common now) Gale Wings and Prankster boosts. Wish can be used to recover HP for your team or for Komala. Yawn can be used to pressure opponents to switch out or risk turns vulnerable to attacks due to being asleep. Wood Hammer can be used to get rid of Suicune if used on a team with Mimikyu or you could go with the good old Return for STAB. Rock Slide or Earthquake is used for coverage.

Comment if you have ways to improve this set!

Komala(M) @ LeftoversAbility: ComatoseEVs: 8 HP / 250 Def / 250 SpDImpish Nature- Return- Play Rough- Wish- Substitute / Bulk Up

Play Rough: Use it for Ghost and Rock and for super effective damage.

Wish: Self-explanatory; just tick off your opponents one by one.

Substitute/Bulk Up: Komala isn’t the bulkiest Pokemon, so these are good moves to boost defense (for the latter, anyway). However, if you can use Substitute and Wish properly, go with that.

Komala @ Choice BandAbility: ComatoseEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 DefAdamant Nature- Sleep Talk- Return / Brick Break- Earthquake / Rock Slide- Shadow Claw / Sucker Punch

Bulky physical sweeper. The choice band and the high attack stat will put on 541 attack right off the bat. Using sleep talk with choice band is very powerful since you’re not stuck on one move all the time, of course you can still choose one move if you know it’s going to sweep the rest of the opponent’s team. Baton passing from a Ninjask makes this setup even harder to deal with because of the speed, however you may want to switch to Shadow Claw in this case since you would be moving before anyone anyway, and having that extra critical hit chance could prove useful. Don’t worry about the RNG messing you up too much; they are all very good damaging moves that can at least two hit any mon that comes your way. If you want a fighting type move, though, you may want to get rid of Return since ghost types could easily bypass your offenses in that case.

Okay so 1. Komala has a base atk. stat of 115 and 2. it has a good combination of moves. Heres My set.

Sleeper Sweeper (Komala) @ Assault VestAbility: ComatoseEVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpDCareful Nature- Sucker Punch / Return- Play Rough- Earthquake- U-turn

A Careful nature, 252 Special Defense EVs and an Assault Vest mean Komala can tank a hit or 2 from special attacks. The rest goes into Attack and HP for smashing power. Play Rough and Earthquake are powerful moves that also give coverage. Sucker Punch or Return can be used for priority or STAB, respectively. U-Turn is used to switch out when things are getting nasty.

I hope you liked it and if you have any comments plz comment.

Komala @ Assault VestAbility: ComatoseEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 DefAdamant Nature- Rapid Spin- Return- U-turn- Sucker Punch / Earthquake

Gen 9 NU Bulk Up + Rapid SpinKomala @ LeftoversAbility: ComatoseTera Type: GhostEVs: 252 HP / 136 SpD / 120 SpeCareful Nature- Bulk Up- Rapid Spin- Shadow Claw- Wish

After what seemed like forever, NU finally gets a (good) Rapid Spin user in Komala. I’m not exactly sure how good Komala will end up being due to its base 65 HP and base 65 Defense, but being a Rapid Spinner that is immune to status is pretty neat. This is a Bulk Up + Rapid Spin set, which lets Komala serve as a Rapid Spinner and a setup sweeper in one moveset. This set was used in RU, but with a different EV spread. Bulk Up raises Komala’s Attack and Defense stats, which is useful since Komala doesn’t exactly have a good Defense stat. Rapid Spin is used for the Normal STAB to clear away hazards and give Komala a speed boost, allowing it to outspeed faster Pokemon. Shadow Claw allows Komala to hit Pokemon such as Rotom, Haunter, Drifblim, and Tera Ghost Dudunsparce super effectively. Wish is used to give Komala semi reliable HP recovery. Leftovers is used for HP recovery. Tera Ghost is used for the Tera Type since it not only makes Shadow Claw become STAB, it also turns Komala’s Fighting weakness into an immunity.

252 HP EVs are used for bulk. 120 Speed EVs allow Komala to outspeed Jolteon after it uses Rapid Spin 2 times. The rest of the EVs are used in Special Defense along with a Careful Nature for some special bulk. The Speed EVs amount can honestly be adjusted to what speed benchmark you want to reach. For example, this set can use an EV Spread of 252 HP / 196 SpD / 60 Spe to outspeed Hisuian Sneasel after a +2 Speed boost from Rapid Spin, or 252 HP / 156 SpD / 100 Spe to have a Speed of 286 after a Rapid Spin. Do note that all of these metioned EV Spreads use Careful Nature.
