Kyurem-Black @ Choice Band / Lum BerryAbility: TeravoltEVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpeNaive Nature- Outrage- Ice Beam- Stone Edge / Substitute- Fusion Bolt
Someone had to post a Black Kyurem Moveset, so I posted mine. I can easily see Black Kyurem being one of the most dangerous Pokemon in the Uber Metagame, and for good reason. The former 2 are STAB. Fusion Bolt is coverage against Kyogre really. Stone Edge is chosen if you decide to run Choice Band, while Substitute is if Lum Berry is decided.
Kyurem-White @ Life OrbAbility: TurboblazeEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor- Fusion Flare- Ice Beam / Blizzard- Roost
Both Dragon Pulse and Draco Meteor are STAB, it depends on if you want consistent damage or kind of hit and run.Fusion Flare is good at getting Steel types out of the way, like Ferrothorn and Forretress. No need for HP Fire anymore.Ice Beam is nice STAB and gets some extra coverage. Blizzard is cool and all if you run Uber Hail.Roost is excellent healing and an interesting option, Roost shrugs off Life Orb recoil and attacks.Rapid spin support is also recommended.
Once upon a time, Kyurem was created. He had great stats and a legendary status. But his typing was horrible and his physical movepool was sub-par. He hid in the giant chasm, hoping and praying that a hero would make him viable. Then, the DNA splicers came in to existence. And with these, Kyurem could fuse with one of the two heroes, the dragon of truth and the dragon of ideals. And when he traveled to the Galar region, two new heroes that he didn’t have to fuse with now help him-Dragon Dance and Icicle Spear. Fusing with the two dragons still made him more powerful, but now he could put up a better fight on the physical side when not fused.Kyurem @ Heavy-Duty BootsAbility: PressureEVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpeAdamant Nature- Dragon Dance- Icicle Spear- Dragon Claw- Iron Head
He wears Heavy-Duty Boots because stepping on rocks and spikes makes him scream and cry in agony. With Dragon Dance, he could preform a somehow-menacing dance to boost his agility and physical might. With Icicle Spear, he could throw large, sharp icicles at the opponent, but he has to hope that he can find more than 2 of them. With Dragon Claw, he can use his somewhat small claws and slash the opponent. And with Iron Head, he can hit the Fairies that usually strike fear in to his very heart.
Kyurem-White @ Life Orb / Choice SpecsAbility: TurboblazeEVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpDModest Nature- Ice Beam- Fusion Flare- Focus Blast- Psychic / Draco Meteor
I don’t know if any of you pre-ordered Japanese Black or White 2, but I did :D482 SpA is so baws, and each of these moves gets dat powa. I personally prefer White Kyurem over Black, but that is your choice. Kyurem is still sexy.
Trick Room SweeperKyurem-Black @ Life OrbAbility: TeravoltEVs: 44 HP / 252 Atk / 212 SpABrave Nature- Outrage- Earth Power- Fusion Bolt- Ice Beam
0 IVs in Speed. With this Kyurem-B makes an effective Trick Room sweeper. A problem with it has always been its Speed stat. So this seeks to fix that. While this does allow Steel types such as Scizor and Ferrothorn to outspeed it, as well as Conkeldurr, these are Pokemon that would have already been able to counter Kyurem. So it doesn’t matter. Outrage is STAB that 2HKOs almost everything in the game, only a few of the bulkiest Steel types (Skarmory) can avoid the guarenteed 2HKO (there is a chance to get the 2HKO though.) Earth Power is there to hit Bronzong, Jirachi, and Heatran, 2HKOing them (fully Special Defensive Heatran has a chance to get OHKOd with Rocks up, add Spikes to the mix to guarentee the OHKO.) Fusion Bolt hits your bulky Water types, and Skarmory. Ice Beam is there for Gliscor and Landorus-T.
Firium Z-Kyurem boosted special attacker
Nat Dex AG
Kyurem-White @ Firium ZAbility: TurboblazeShiny: YesEVs: 180 HP / 252 SpA / 76 SpeModest NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Fusion Flare- Freeze-Dry- Draco Meteor- Roost
Inferno Overdrive Kyurem-White. Gonna melt those steel-types that dare crossing your path. I found this thing way underrated, there’s nothing that can switch to its awesome coverage out of fairy-types which are now gonna be melted. It works in Nat Dex AG as well as USUM AG. but I prefer the former since Dusk Mane Necrozma is physically defensive instead of special. These calculations will make you feel why it’s crazy:
Now those 180 HP are really weird, but they allow you to tank some hits which is why I love it:
Since they turn a potential OHKO/2HKO to 2HKO/3HKO, I invested 180 EVs in HP. Rest are put into Spe so that you can outspeed some important things. Run Freeze Dry if you want to hit Primal Kyogre or Arceus-Water, else Ice Beam works fine too.
[Gen 8] Anything Goes
There exists mixed Kyurem-Black…so not why mixed Kyurem-White?
Role: Mixed SweeperKyurem-White @ Life OrbAbility: TurboblazeEVs: 252 Atk / 92 SpA / 164 SpeHasty Nature- Dragon Dance- Fusion Flare- Outrage- Stone Edge
Mixed sets = double destruction. Physical hits destroy that menacing Chansey, Ho-Oh, other bulky walls while Fusion Flare allows to 2HKO or OHKO most steel-types in the tier. Dragon Dance acts as a way to boost your average speed, allowing to outsped Zacian-Crowned as well as Calyrex-Shadow.
Fusion Flare hits harder even without any SpA investment to a physically Defensive Necrozma Dusk-Mane than a +1 Shadow Claw with Max Atk investment does. As Max Flare, it OHKOes Zacian-Crowned as well as 2HKOing Necrozma Dusk Mane without sun. Outrage is strong STAB, while Stone Edge OHKOes the crap of Ho-Oh. 164 Spe with Timid Nature allows to hit 439, outspeeding Calyrex-Shadow with Max Speed as well as Zacian-C. Max Atk because its SpA of 170 is already gigantic. Rest are put into SpA to maximize Fusion Flare damage.
The calculations part
+1 252 Atk Life Orb Turboblaze Kyurem-White Outrage vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 653-769 (91.4 - 107.7%) – guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
I don’t justify using Shadow Claw over Fusion Flare because it hits like a scratch against the mighty steel-lion.
Not even a complete 4HKO…that’s pretty bad. Well Prism Armor can’t be ignored :s
Obviously, Fusion Flare is better than Shadow Claw. Hasty Nature so that you don’t worsen match-up against Kyogre which you aren’t aiming to outsped.
So, that’s the set. I worship Kyurem-White because it’s really good :D
No love for Kyurem I seeWell Kyurem is pretty epic and can run a sub roost set better than any other Pokemon.Surprising this page has no Sub Roost sets already.
Kyurem @ LeftoversAbility: PressureEVs: 52 HP / 232 SpA / 224 SpeModest Nature- Substitute- Dragon Pulse- Focus Blast- Roost
Kyurem-Black@ Power HerbAbility: TeravoltEVs: 252 Atk / 60 SpA / 192 SpeLonely Nature- Freeze Shock- Fusion Bolt- Outrage- Draco Meteor
This set is simple. PH is for Freeze Shock which will do massive damage with STAB. Draco Meteor comes afer Feeze Shock. Fusion Bolt for coverage. Outrage for Physical STAB.
Kyurem white is my favorite Kyurem transformation.
Kyurem-White @ Icicle PlateAbility: TurboblazeEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeModest Nature- Fusion Flare- Ice Beam- Ice Burn- Dragon Pulse
A moveset for Black Kyurem is kinda hard because he hasn’t got great moves, well here goes.
Kyurem-Black @ Life OrbAbility: TeravoltEVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpeAdamant Nature- Outrage- Fusion Bolt- Freeze Shock- Iron Head
MyBlackKyurem knows these moves.Role: Physical Sweeper
Kyurem-Black @ LeftoversAbility: TeravoltEVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpeJolly Nature- Outrage- Dragon Claw- Freeze Shock- Fusion Bolt
Outrage - STAB, good power, high accuracyDragon Claw - STAB, good move, good PPFreeze Shock - Great power, STABFusion Bolt - High Power and accuracy
I used this moveset to battle a White Kyurem, but it can be used for other battles too.
Since Kyurem-B is OU now because of a horrible movepool, it can be OP.
Kyurem-Black @ Life OrbAbility: TeravoltEVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpeAdamant Nature / Jolly Nature- Roost- Outrage- Dragon tail- Fusion Bolt
I put Fusion Bolt there for coverage since it doesn’t get STAB and Dragon Tail for force switching after Spikes or Stealth Rock has been put up.
Honestly, I would use this for a Black Kyurem:
Kyurem-Black @ Choice BandAbility: TeravoltEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpeAdamant Nature- Outrage / Dragon Claw- Fusion Bolt- Freeze Shock / Ice Beam- Sleep Talk
This set is simple: sit back, relax, and spam Outrage. Or you can run Dragon Claw for less power but the freedom to switch. However, even Defensive Landorus-T is 2HKOed by Outrage. Fusion Bolt is for coverage against bulky steel types, except Ferrothorn. If your opponent dares to switch, and you predict them, Freeze Shock hits so hard, it does half to Toxapex. However, Ice Beam could be used to be reliable ice STAB. Sleep Talk is used to be a sleep sponge.
The EVs are to nuke your opponents with overpowered physical attacks, while make use of Kyurem-Black’s good bulk. Teravolt is the only ability Kyurem-B can have, and is a good one to, allowing Kyurem-Black to ignore abilities like sturdy and disguise. Finally, an Adamant nature is used to… well, it’s kind of obvious.
Hope this shreds many teams!
Calculations:
252+ Adamant Kyurem-B Fusion Bolt vs 252/252+ Skarmory: 248-292(78.2-88%) Guaranteed 2HKO.
252+ Adamant Kyurem-B Outrage vs 252/252+ Zygarde-C: 498-588(78.3-92.4%) Guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery.(Not many Pokemon can do that with a physical move)
252+ Adamant Kyurem-B Freeze Shock vs 252/0 Aegislash -Shield: 162-191(50-58.9%) Guaranteed 2HKO
(Note: These are some of the bulkiest Pokemon in the game)
Gen 7 OU
Kyurem-Black @ Icium ZAbility: TeravoltEVs: 244 Atk / 12 SpA / 252 SpeNaive Nature- Freeze Shock- Fusion Bolt- Draco Meteor / Ice Beam- Earth Power / Ice Beam
Freeze Shock is STAB, however, it takes 2 turns to charge. Icium Z turns it into a 200 BP Subzero Slammer that doesn’t need to charge up, for one turn. Fusion Bolt is coverage and gets rid of Waters which resist Freeze Shock, like Tapu Fini, Mega Gyarados, and Greninja. Draco Meteor is STAB. Earth Power gets rid of Heatran, Excadrill, Jirachi, and Mega Mawile. Ice Beam can be used instead as a 1 turn STAB move that easily gets rid of Landorus-Therian.
Gen 8 Ubers
Kyurem-White @ Life OrbAbility: TurboblazeEVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Ice Beam- Fusion Flare- Draco Meteor- Earth Power
Ice Beam is STAB and threatens the many Dragons in Ubers. Fusion Flare is good coverage and is super-effective against Steel types. Draco Meteor is STAB and lets Kyurem-W get rid of some walls. Earth Power covers Steels like Dialga, which are neutral to Fusion Flare. It also covers Rock types.
I’m making a moveset for this beast (Kyurem-White) since it rose 3 sub ranks up in Gen 8 AG. (C to B+).
Kyurem-White @ Utility Umbrella / Heavy-Duty BootsAbility: TurboblazeEVs: 72 HP / 216 SpD / 220 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Sheer Cold / Dragon Tail- Freeze-Dry- Fusion Flare- Roost
The only counter for Rest Talk Sheer Cold is Kyurem-White. Both Ferrothorn and Eternatus lose to non-Choice sets, Sheer cold just beats them easily. This is because Sleep Talk makes up for the low PP of Sheer Cold. Kyurem-White is immune to them, making it a solid counter. Utility Umbrella makes Kyurem-White handle Choice Scarf and Specs Kyogre much easier, while Dragon Tail and Sheer Cold force Calm Mind sets to force switch. Fusion Flare with Utility Umbrella ignores rain, meaning you can hit Ferrothorn and similar steel-types very hard. Finally Freeze-Dry is chosen to hit Kyogre, while Roost is recovery. Heavy Duty Boots is an option but not more useful that Utility Umbrella.
72/216 SpDef are chosen to maximize defense as much as possible, while 220 Spe with Timid allows it to outspeed base 90s along with reaching 308, which allows to outsped 44 Spe Eternatus that has 307 Spe.While people prefer Eternatus over this, the latter loses to non-Choice item Kyogre that have Rest and Calm Mind. Kyurem-White threatens it with Sheer Cold and Dragon Tail.
Gen 7 ubersWallbreakerKyurem-White @ Choice SpecsAbility: TurboblazeEVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Ice Beam- Draco Meteor- Fusion Flare- Stone Edge
Pretty self explanatory set. Ice beam for STAB wallbreaking. Draco Meteor for big targets like Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. Stone Edge is so after a ice beam, you predict Ho-Oh switch and wipe it out with Stone Edge who would wall you other wise. And most of the people run Banded Ho-Oh so most of the time you don’t need chip. You don’t need -Def nature.
Here are some calcs:Ho-Oh:
4- Atk Turboblaze Kyurem-White Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Ho-Oh: 332-392 (79.8 - 94.2%) – guaranteed 2HKO
Vs Primal Groudon:
252 SpA Choice Specs Turboblaze Kyurem-White Draco Meteor vs. 0 HP / 100 SpD Groudon-Primal: 382-450 (112 - 131.9%) – guaranteed OHKO
Vs Xerneas:
252 SpA Choice Specs Turboblaze Kyurem-White Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Xerneas: 274-324 (69.7 - 82.4%) – guaranteed 2HKO
Vs Primal Kyogre:
After some chip you should be able to predict switch and wipe it out with:
Vs: Necrozma-Dusk-Mane
AND that’s Specially defensive. Guess what will happen to offensive Necrozma Dusk Mane?Hope I helped!
Gen 8 OU
Kyurem @ Choice SpecsAbility: PressureEVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpeModest Nature- Ice Beam- Freeze-Dry- Earth Power- Focus Blast
Ice Beam is a powerful and spammable STAB option. Freeze-Dry lets Kyurem beat the prevalent bulky waters like Slowking and Toxapex. Earth Power blows up any Heatran trying to come in with its 4x Ice resistance. Focus Blast does the most damage to SpD Scizor and Blissey.
Defog support is incredibly important for Kyurem. If you don’t have a good Defogger this Pokemon becomes a pretty massive burden most of the time. Corviknight is the best Defogger in the tier and can bring Heatran in with its U-turn.
Black Glasses / Life Orb Bisharp is a great partner for Kyurem since it destroys Blissey (Focus Blast 2HKOing is cool but the move can be unreliable sometimes) and beats some faster Pokemon Kyurem loses to like Dragapult and Volcarona, with some proper prediction.
(Hex set)Dragapult’s Hex set is the perfect super glue for a slow wallbreaking core such as Kyu + Bish. Not only can it clean up late-game after massive damage has been dished out, but it can also spread paralysis with Thunder Wave. Kyurem deals with Mandibuzz and Bisharp deals with Blissey.
Gen 5 OU
Kyurem-Black @ Choice BandAbility: TeravoltEVs: 252 Atk / 60 Def / 60 SpD / 136 SpeAdamant Nature- Outrage- Dragon Claw- Fusion Bolt- Ice Beam
This thing’s movepool is atrocious. Good thing it is able to viably run Ice Beam thanks to the STAB boost and it destroying some Pokemon that can be annoying to Kyurem-B, most notably Landorus-Therian with its Intimidate. Outrage is an insane wallbreaking tool with STAB and Choice Band. However, it can sometimes be risky to lock yourself into, so Dragon Claw is the move you should be using the most, having less power but more consistency on a Choice Bander. Fusion Bolt gets rid of things like Skarmory and hits Steels like Metagross, Scizor, Heatran, and Jirachi neutrally. I already explained Ice Beam but if you want me to explain once again, it’s to get rid of Landorus-T without locking yourself into Outrage and being hindered by the Attack drop from Intimidate. 252 Attack and Adamant are for the maximum amount of power. 136 Speed EVs are used to outspeed Adamant Dragonite and Adamant Mamoswine, and the remaining EVs go into bulk.
With Magnezone, you can do something cool that’s called “the most powerful Dragon Claw and Outrage in the game, but with no resists now that the Steels are gone”. Heatran is the only thing stopping it from doing that since it is a Steel type that matches up well against Sunny Day Magnet Rise Magnezone, but it gets 2HKOed by Banded Fusion Bolt after Rocks.
Specially Defensive Jirachi’s Stealth Rock support lets Kyurem-Black have no safe switch-ins at all. Kyurem-Black is also weak to a lot of Pokemon but Jirachi handles most of these Pokemon fairly well.
Latios + Kyurem-Black on Dragmag is great. Whether it be Specs, Calm Mind, or that Scarf Psychic set I made recently, the two form an extremely powerful wallbreaking core. Kyurem-Black packs more power, but Latios brings more Speed and slightly more defensive utility in the long run thanks to its lack of a Stealth Rock weakness and its Spikes immunity.
