This is a good way to Catch opponents off guard, Dual screen Latias:
This is actually one of the faster and best dual screeners in the game, but it is often over shadowed due to it’s offensive prowess.First move is preference, I preferDragon Pulse, simply because it hits more neutral.Mist Ballhas the defensive boost, whilePsychichas an offensive boost, all benefit from STAB. The second move is also preference, both are recovery,Wishtakes a turn, but it can be used to heal an ally, whileRecoveris instant, and a little more selfish.Light Clay + Screens are the only way to go, in my opinion. Leftovers is plausible, as is Lum Berry, but Light Clay just adds to the utility of Latias.EVs and nature aren’t difficult, Speed gets the screens up before attacks come flying at it. HP EVs are to make to defense boosts worth using, while defensive EVs are to keep it bulky and annoying. Offensive EVs aren’t needed, as Latias has only one attack. Nature is easy, either something to boost Def, it’s lower stat, or Speed, to help with screens.
Offensive Defog SupportLatias (F) @ Life OrbAbility: LevitateEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Defog- Draco Meteor- Psyshock- Healing Wish/Hidden Power Fire
Able to break through walls like Ferrothorn and Venusaur with the correct move, this Latias is a great defog support option for any hyper-offensive team. As most people will suspect a more defensive set it works as a great lure, and once it’s job is done it can fully heal a teammate with Healing Wish.

Latias-Mega @ LatiasiteAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 80 SpD / 172 SpeTimid / Calm Nature
Calm Mind is set-up. Stored Power is STAB and gets stronger every time Calm Mind is used, and with M-Latias’s great bulk and all the balance flying around, it doesn’t have a hard time setting up and sweeping. Psyshock, on the other hand, lets Mega Latias do more damage to Calm Mind users like Reuniclus and Clefable, and ensures the best Pokemon in the tier, Heavy-Duty Boots Blissey, won’t be around to wall it. Aura Sphere isfor KOing Dark types like Weavile, Tyranitar, and the incredibly dangerous Specs Ash-Greninja (which it can easily set up on if it locks itself into Hydro Pump or Spikes), and Nasty Plot Hydreigon which are Dark types and therefore are completely unaffected by Stored Power or Psyshock. Aura Sphere also hits the Steel types resistant to your Psychic STAB, which lets it break past Ferrothorn and do decent damage to Mega Scizor. Recover keeps Mega Latias healthy.
Natures: Timid lets Latias outspeed Hydreigon, while Calm ensures it will never be OHKOed by Hydreigon’s +2 Dark Pulse.
252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja Dark Pulse vs. 252 HP / 80 SpD Latias-Mega: 222-264 (60.9 - 72.5%) – guaranteed 2HKO

Latias (F) @ Soul DewAbility: LevitateEVs: 60 HP / 252 Def / 196 SpAModest NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Thunder Wave- Psyshock- Dragon Pulse- Roost
Did anyone else see that movie?
Okay, Thunder Wave makes you not have to worry about speed at all, Sweeping is Latio’s thing.
Roost makes for instant healing, Dragon Pulse and Psyshock for Special/Physical Damage while still using your primary attacking stat, AND dual STAB!I love this Dragon thing!
Latias (F) @ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpeModest Nature- Thunder Wave- Healing Wish- Psyshock- Shadow Ball
Supportive Pokemon.
Thunder Wave cripples sweepers and lets you start nailing them with Psyshock and Shadow Ball. Healing Wish is for after you know Latias is finished (Or walled) so that you can basically revive another Pokemon that’s taken a lot of damage. (Or a sweeper that was crippled by burn or para-hax )
Latias (F) @ Choice SpecsAbility: LevitateEVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Trick- Draco Meteor- Hidden Power Fire- Surf
This Latias can be a nasty surprise on opponents hoping to come in on a defensive support Latias.Trick tricks away the specs, and this can just flat-out ruin pesky walls like Chansey.Hidden Power Fire is for Steel types like Ferrothorn.Surf hits Heatran, a Pokemon who walls this set. It also generally helps round out the coverage.
Latias (F) @ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 120 HP / 252 Def / 138 SpDBold NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Recover- Ice Beam- Thunderbolt- Dragon Pulse

Latias (F) @ Leftovers / Soul DewAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 6 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Dragon Pulse- Recover- Psyshock / Roar / Hidden Power [Fire]- Calm Mind
This is a pretty nice sweeper set for Latias that I’m looking forward to using soon enough.Dragon Pulseis definitely there for a pretty high powered STAB attack to deal with almost anything that comes in, except for Steel types, which will be dealt with with HP Fire.Recoveris there for you when Latias' HP gets low, and if you ever get a chance at a free heal.Psyshockis a wall-breaker attack, where you just won’t allow anything to stop you, such as Blissey. You also have the option atRoar, which allows you to blow away a foe you won’t be able toDragon Pulse, also allowing you to gain a chance at revealing a Pokemon your opponent could be hiding.Hidden Power (Fire)is also another good option in case a Steel type comes in to resist yourDragon Pulseattack.Calm Mindis where this set begins, so this is almost essential.Calm Mindallows your Latias to become a Specially Defensive goddess, with an already high Base Defensive stat, also powering up your potential attacks. When setting up, be sure to be safe and heal up withRecoveror else all that setting up would have been in vain!
This is probably one of the worst movesets out there for a Latias, but I use this in Wi-Fi battles, so laugh all you want :D
Latias @ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 4 Def / 252 SpD / 252 SpeModest Nature-Wish-Substitute / Psychic-Dragon Pulse-Thunder Wave
Alright you can laugh all you want, because I know this set is horrible…lol. Anyways, I need to pass down Wishes to my mons because most of my mons can’t heal themselves. Since I don’t have Timid nature, I use Thunder Wave so I don’t worry about speed. Dragon Pulse is for STAB damage, and I use Substitute to hide while dealing some damage at some time. Modest Nature is for sp. attack boost. For the EVs, I still need some speed, and I want to boost Latias' tankiness.
Now, in ORAS, Latias gets Stored Power, which can be deadly in combination with a SubCM set.

You could also run a Mega Latias set:

it’s that one moveset EVERYONE runs
Latias-Mega @ LatiasiteAbility: LevitateEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Ice Beam- Psyshock/Psychic- Calm Mind- Thunderbolt/Surf
Ice beam has better coverage for dragons since they’re usually 4x weak to ice. At least a lot of the meta dragons are.
Role: wall, staller
Latias @ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpDCalm Nature- Light Screen- Reflect- Toxic- Psychic
Light Screen: Raises sp. defense for five turns.Reflect: Raises defense for five turns.Toxic: To stall.Psychic: All walls must have an attacking move, STAB, great power.
Be aware of Steel types! I recommend this set in doubles with a Fire and/or Fighting type. Hope this helped!

Dragon Pulse/Ice Beam: STAB or Coverage.Psychic: STAB, power.Calm Mind: Become the ideal tank.Recover: Healing, making people forfeit.
My Mega Latias set is competitive and will be different than the ones you see on this page.
Latias (F) @ LatiasiteAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Dragon Pulse- Stored Power- Calm Mind- Protect
The Dragon Pulse is for STAB in case you run into a type that resist Psychic. Your 252 EV speed will let you go first (unless they are scarfed) with Calm Mind and your 252 EV SpAtk will make you hit hard. I know Stored Power is and odd choice, but the formula is 20 + (X * 20). So, if you get two Calm Minds, X = 4, meaning that Stored Power will do 100, and with STAB 150. The one thing that recks Stored Power is a stat removal move such as Clear Smog and Haze. Protect is there to prevent that from happening and can also come in handy when dealing with scarfed mons that are a danger (Weavile, Tyranitar, etc). I hope this helps.

Gen 8 Doubles OULatias (F) @ Life OrbAbility: LevitateEVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Psychic- Mystical Fire- Ice Beam / Draco Meteor- Protect / Tailwind
Kartana / Urshifu-R / Zygarde is a really strong offensive trio in DOU at the moment, and Latias is one of the few avaliable Pokémon capable of dealing with all three of them. Psychic is, well, psychic STAB. Mystical Fire is coverage, allowing Latias to OHKO Genesect and the aforementioned Kartana. Ice Beam destroys Zygarde and does 44.4 - 52.8% damage to standard Rillaboom. Draco Meteor is a stronger option if your team struggles with Kyurem-Black, but the special attack drop can be pretty brutal, since a Psychic or Draco Meteor afterwards won’t OHKO Urshifu or Zygarde respectively (a -2 Mystical Fire still OHKO’s Kartana though). Protect allows Latias to scout for attacks and also completely block said attacks (unless they’re coming from Urshifu). Tailwind could also be used to give your team a valuable source of speed control, and Latias is one of the fastest Tailwind users in the meta.
Gen 8 BDSP Monotype (Psychic / Dragon)Latias (F) @ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 224 Def / 32 SpeBold NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Calm Mind- Stored Power- Thunderbolt / Ice Beam- Roost
This is a defensive Calm Mind set that can be used on dragon or psychic type teams. Calm Mind is for setup, allowing you to boost your Special Attack and Special Defense. This means Calm Mind will make you able to take special hits better and become an offensive presence. Stored Power is for Psychic STAB that becomes more powerful when you use Calm Mind multiple times. Thunderbolt / Ice Beam are for coverage moves and are interchangeable on this moveset. Thunderbolt targets Pokemon like Slowbro, Empoleon, Crawdaunt, and Skarmory, damaging them with a super-effective move. Ice Beam, on the other hand, allows you to deal super effective damage to Pokemon like opposing Lati twins, Cacturne, and Gliscor. Roost allows you to recover HP and allows you to stay in the game longer.
It’s best to take out dark and steel types before sending this Latias set out, so you can be able to stay in without worrying about a dark or steel type walling you. The given EV spread maximizes HP to give you as much bulk as possible. 32 Speed EVs allow you to outspeed max speed base 70 Pokemon. The rest of the EVs are placed into defense to help take physical attacks better. Bold Nature is used to help boost the amount of bulk in your defense stat. An EV spread of 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe with a Timid nature also works for this set.
