Similar to my last set, it’s a little bit different though.
Regirock Curse set
Regirock @ LeftoversAbility: Clear BodyEVs: 252 HP / 64 Atk / 192 SpDCareful Nature- Stone Edge- Drain Punch- Earthquake- Curse
Stone Edge is good STAB, and makes Regirock able to check Flying types reliably.Drain Punch gets some extra coverage, and the healing it gives (especially after a few Curse boosts) is really nice.Earthquake is excellent along with Stone Edge, creating the infamous EdgeQuake combo, which is rarely seen resisted.Curse boosts Regirock’s already decent attack stat, and already excellent defense stat to even higher levels.
DO NOTE: This set works best with the support of the ability Sand Stream by boosting Regirock’s SpD by 50%, which it greatly appreciates..
You get hit by a supereffective attack, get the Atk boost, and just beat up the foe. (saw it on YouTube / The YouTuber did not reveal a 4th attack so I went with Rock Slide)
Regirock @ LeftoversAbility: Clear BodyEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpDAdamant Nature- Stone Edge- Drain Punch- Earthquake- Ice Punch / Stealth Rock
Trick Room support as well as Sandstorm is nice, can be used without it as well though.Stone Edge for some nice STAB, Drain Punch is a nice edition, covers a few types.Earthquake gives good coverage as well.Ice Punch gives nice coverage, Stealth rock is to set up those annoying hazards that ruin the metagame.
Gen 6 Moveset
Regirock @ Weakness PolicyAbility: SturdyEVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpeJolly Nature- Drain Punch- Rock Polish- Ice Punch- Stone Edge
Strategy:
You can either setup at the start if you think you have a chance of getting the stat increase from the weakness policy or midway through the battle when you need to switch out. I’d preferably setup midway through the battle because then you can come out into a Pokemon which you know Regirock will be weak to. First of all I’d get a rock polish up so that Regirock can raise his speed from a maximum of 218 to a solid 436 so then it can pretty much outspeed the majority of Pokemon. It doesn’t matter if the opponent goes first because you have sturdy to back you up and if you play it right and get hit by a super effective move the weakness policy will kick in and your attack will be raised from 299 to 598 which with having such a high attack stat can do some serious damage. Stone Edge is obviously for the STAB and to also take out flying and Ice type Pokemon (a critical hit is a bonus though) and Ice Punch is there to take out Grass and Ground type Pokemon.
Weaknesses:
Stealth Rock: You may want to carry a Pokemon with you that has a move/ability that can reflect the attack back or clear it off of the field
Moves that always go first: So like Quick Attack, Extreme Speed and especially Aqua Jet. This is why you should put your last 4 EVs into your Defense (or Special Defense if you wanna watch out for moves like Vacuum Wave) so that Regirock has a better chance at tanking those hits and can carry on its sweep.
Status moves: This is an obvious one but to be honest it isn’t as bad because Regirock will be going first anyway. The move you want to look out for the most is Thunder Wave but like I said you’ll most likely go first anyway so it shouldn’t be too much of a problem unless you’re opponent is running a bulky Gardevoir and it manages to survive but even then its Defense at maximum is 251 and it’s up against a Regirock with an attack stat of 598 so just use Stone Edge, get the STAB and hopefully it’ll go down or if you want to use a more safer option use Ice Punch which will still do a lot of damage or even KO it as well.
I hope you enjoy this moveset and please comment what you think of it and if there’s any changes that you think need doing.
Here is my Regirock moveset:
Regirock @ LeftoversAbility: Clear BodyEVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpDCareful Nature- Curse- Toxic- Stealth Rock- Stone Edge
Curse to boost Defense, while making Regirock less passive (with enough boosts), Toxic to put your opponent on a timer, Stealth Rock for chip damage, and Stone Edge for a strong STAB attacking move.
Regirock may be in the PU tier, but this Regirock battles like an Ubers!
Regirock @ LeftoversAbility: Clear BodyEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 DefAdamant Nature- Curse- Stone Edge- Hammer Arm- Ice Punch
• Curse: Raises two of his best stats and lowers one of his worst• Stone Edge: Strong STAB• Hammer Arm: Strong, covers steel weakness• Ice Punch: Covers grass and ground weaknessHe can take powerful physical hits and hit back pretty darn hard too. His special defense isn’t bad. Special water types are his biggest threats.
Regirock @ LeftoversAbility: Clear BodyEVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpDImpish Nature• Iron Defense• Body Press• Toxic / Stealth Rock• Protect
200 Base defense and Iron Defense make Body Press very powerful. Stealth rocks for a rock setter if you need one, and Toxic if you don’t. Protect is for Leftovers recovery and Toxic damage if you choose it.
Gen 8 Tank
Regirock @ LeftoversAbility: Clear BodyEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpDAdamant Nature- Sandstorm- Stone Edge- Stealth Rock- Ice Punch / Earthquake / Drain Punch
Sandstorm boosts special defense. Stone edge is STAB. Stealth rock is an annoying move. Last slot is coverage.
