A Rotom-Mow set that can lure and kill dragon types.Gen 8 NURotom-Mow @ Kebia BerryAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Nasty Plot- Leaf Storm- Stored Power- Disarming Voice
Set Concept:So, the idea of this set is to lure in dragon types like Dragalge and Guzzlord, who pretty much wall you, and then take them out with Rotom-Mow. First, send out Rotom-Mow out on a Pokemon that is weak to Rotom-Mow. Nasty Plot boosts your special attack by two stages, and if your opponent sends out Dragalge, you can use Nasty Plot again so you can have a +4 Special Attack, and thanks to Kebia Berry, you can live a Sludge Bomb from Dragalge. Stored Power becomes a 100 BP move and is super effective on Dragalge. Disarming Voice is for Guzzlord, since it is 4x weak to fairy moves, and OHKOes it at +4. Leaf Storm is strong STAB and already takes out dragon types like Tyrantrum and Kingdra at +2. You’ll want teammates who can deal with steel types like Sirfetch’d and Salazzle. Flygon can be used as a teammate since it can handle Drapion and can use U-Turn to bring in Rotom-Mow.
Damage Calcs:
Lawn Mower (Rotom-Mow) @ Choice ScarfAbility: LevitateEVs: 8 HP / 248 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Leaf Storm- Volt Switch- Trick- Hidden Power [Rock]
Leaf Storm for STAB, Volt Switch is nice scouting, STAB.Trick to get away your choice scarf.yay for another grass type with HP Rock.
Rotom-Mow@ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpDCalm Nature-Will-O-Wisp-Pain Split-Leaf Storm-Thunderbolt
Actually, a set I got from Smogon, works great.
The EVs make him specially bulky, while Willo Wisp immediately cuts down Physical attackers, crippling then for the rest of the battle assuming they down have a Heal Bell or Aromatherapy’er.
Pain Split is for when the next threat comes in and you’ve taken some damage, you can pull your Hp back up to par with theirs and take them down.
Thunderbolt hits hard with STAB and doesn’t have stat drops.
While Leaf Storm is his incredibly hard-hitting STAB move, but he really can’t attack after using it.
I ran this set a while back in B/W before I had PokeGen and got the ingame trade Rotom, so this set is mainly just for fun, I don’t know if you’d call it a “good” set, more like a “derp” set:
Rotom-Mow @ Grass GemAbility: LevitateEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Leaf Storm- Volt Switch- Hidden Power [Fire]- Trick
Its main purpose is to get off a Grass Gem Leaf Storm for massive damage, then Trick to get the opponents item and give them nothing. Or you can just Trick right off the bat to give them a Grass Gem. Volt Switch is for momentum and HP Fire is there to get Ferroseed/Ferrothorn out of the way.
Hope this helped you out to make a unique set to fake out opponents!
Rotom-Mow @ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 68 Def / 188 SpDCalm Nature- Volt Switch- Leaf Storm- Will-O-Wisp- Pain Split
Volt Switchis a great move for Rotom-Mow because it helps it support offensive teams by preserving momentum. You can opt to useThunderboltinstead, as it helps Rotom-Mow better take on the likes of SubDD Gyarados.Leaf Stormstill does a decent amount of damage to the ever-present Water- and Ground-type Pokemon even without investment.
Will-O-Wispcripples physical attackers that would normally switch into Rotom-Mow, such as Ferrothorn and Dragonite.Pain Splitis a mandatory move on this set because Rotom-C lacks reliable recovery outside of Leftovers, and Pain Split allows it to heal off counters such as Chansey and Blissey. It also works very well with Rotom-Mow’s low HP.
Rotom-Mow @ Expert BeltAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 SpA / 126 SpD / 126 Def / 4 SpeQuiet Nature- Thunder- Shadow Ball- Dark Pulse- Volt Switch
Thunder: Big power and a chance of paralyzing your opponentShadow Ball: Lowers the foes SpD and hurting it making it more weak to Rotom’s movesDark Pulse: Hurts the opponent and makes them flinchVolt Switch: If your Pokémon is very hurt during battle attack, switch him out with this move
3rd most viable Rotom form as rated by Smogon and it is not hard to see why.
Rotom-Mow @ Choice SpecsAbility: LevitateEVs: 240 HP / 188 Def / 80 SpDCalm Nature- Leaf Storm- Volt Switch- Trick- Will-O-Wisp
Leaf Storm - STAB.
Volt Switch - STAB and switch.
Trick - Ruins support, set-up sweepers, and physical sweepers.
Will-O-Wisp - Passive damage and nullifies physical sweepers.
Rotom-M @ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Leaf Storm- Confuse Ray- Thunder Wave- Thunderbolt / Thunder / Volt Switch
Leaf Storm is a great Grass-Type move, with that nasty SpA drop.
Confuse Ray + Thunder Wave is what my shiny Mow-Rotom has in my X game, and it has saved me in many WiFi battles, it is an annoying combo.
The last slot is really your choice. Thunder if you want power, Thunderbolt if you want accuracy, or Volt Switch to get out of there. Volt Switch is nice combo with Leaf Storm, that way you can get rid of the SpA drop when you switch out, but at the cost of power.
You can also replace Thunder Wave or Confuse Ray with Will-O-Wisp if you want to wear down health and cut their attack. You can also give Rotom the move Trick, then give your opponent a choice scarf, or another choice item.
Gen 8 NURotom-Mow @ LeftoversAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Substitute- Nasty Plot- Leaf Storm- Thunderbolt / Discharge
Sub Plot set. Substitute allows you to scout for moves and can help you avoid status conditions. Nasty Plot is for boosting your special attack, making you an effective wallbreaker. Leaf Storm is strong grass STAB. Thunderbolt is for electric type STAB so you can deal neutral damage against steel types. Discharge can be used instead for the 30% chance to paralyze opposing Pokémon that can be useful for slowing down Pokémon faster than you.
TeammatesFire type checks like Flygon and Mudsdale are appreciated due to Rotom-C having a weakness to them. Heatproof Bronzong is also a good partner, as it takes less damage from fire type moves, and appreciates Rotom-C’s ground immunity. Heatproof Bronzong also helps with your matchup against sound moves like Boomburst from Exploud since it bypasses Substitute. Pokemon who can check dragon types like Sylveon and Diancie are also appreciated.
National Dex MonotypeRotom-Mow @ Grassium ZAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Nasty Plot- Leaf Storm- Thunderbolt- Hidden Power [Ice]
Nasty Plot set. Nasty Plot is for boosting your special attack. Leaf Storm is incredibly strong STAB and can be used with Grassium Z for a one time powerful nuke. Thunderbolt is for electric STAB and is good coverage alongside your grass STAB. HP Ice is for coverage against dragon and opposing grass types.
Not the best set for a Rotom but certainly an interesting one-Rotom-Mow @ Eject PackAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Thunderbolt / Discharge- Hex- Leaf Storm- Thunder Wave / Nasty Plot / Will-O-Wisp
Use Thunderbolt with Thunder Wave / Will-O-Wisp and Discharge with Nasty PlotEject Pack switches the Pokemon out if it has a stat lowered, so you use Leaf Storm then Eject Pack switches Rotom out, the you use Volt Switch or U-turn to switch Rotom back in getting rid of your stat drops while constantly doing damage to the opposing Pokemon.Other than that you use T-wave to paralyze or WOW to burn and use 130 power Hex with Thunderbolt as main electric stab. Or use Discharge to paralyze with Nasty Plot to raise Sp.Atk. Depends if you want a higher chance to paralyze or ability to boost stats. Most people would prefer Discharge and Nasty Plot.
If you don’t want to utilize the status-hex strategy at all I would suggest :
Rotom-Mow @ Eject PackAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Thunderbolt (Thunder if you don’t care about lower accuracy)- Leaf Storm- Volt Switch / Shadow Ball- Nasty Plot
