Sandaconda @ LeftoversAbility: Sand SpitEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpDAdamant Nature- Earthquake- Body Press- Glare- Stealth Rock
Defensive attacker. Earthquake is STAB. Body Press does pretty well even without defense investment, because of its 125 base defense. Glare is a spammable paralysis against a lot. Stealth Rock to set hazards up.
This set is good with Perish Song Lapras in Doubles:
Sandaconda-Gmax @ Binding BandAbility: Sand SpitEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpDAdamant Nature- High Horsepower- Glare- Rock Slide- Coil / Protect
I’m still deciding on Coil or Protect, so I’ll change it once I’ve made that decision. But for now, pair it with this:
Lapras @ LeftoversAbility: Water AbsorbEVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpDCalm NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Freeze-Dry- Perish Song- Protect- Brine
Go for the Perish Song with Lapras, and then use G-Max Sandblast to lock the target(s) in so they can’t switch out. Make sure your slower than your opponent or Switch out, or else you’ll die first, leaving your opponent with the W.
Sandaconda @ Life OrbAbility: Sand SpitEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 DefAdamant Nature• Earthquake• Stone Edge• Coil• Outrage
Earthquake is strong, accurate STAB. Stone Edge is a strong attack which covers it’s Ice wekaness. Coil makes him hit harder, raises defense, and makes Stone Edge hit more often. Outrage is strong and covers Dragon-types.
I have found that there are two fantastic movesets for a Sandaconda.Glare (Paralysis is your friend in comp)Earthquake (Unfortunately this is a spread move so avoid double battles)Stone Edge (Because it’s ridiculously strong)Iron Head (This is in combination with Glare, because if their speed is halved there is decent chance of flinching)
His ability for this moveset should be SandspitHis nature should give him a raised attack and lowered special attackHis attack should also have max EVs and IVs. (26 Proteins)His Defense should be BEST with 1 iron given to him.His HP should have max IVs and EVs (26 HP UPS)
You want his ability to be Shed skin OR Sand spit, it doesn’t matter. His Nature should Raise Defense and lower Special AttackHis Defense should be at Max EVs and IVsHis Attack should be at Max EVs and IVsHis HP should be Best with 1 HP UP given to him
Gen 9 NU CoilSandaconda @ LeftoversAbility: Shed SkinTera Type: Dragon / FairyEVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpeJolly Nature- Coil- Earthquake- Stone Edge / Dragon Rush- Rest
Since Coil Sandaconda (or CoilConda, as I like to call it) is really good in NU and I enjoy using it, I’m posting its Coil set. Coil boosting Sandaconda’s Attack, Defense, and Accuracy makes Sandaconda a very scary wincon should it be in a position to setup and clean through the opponent’s team. Earthquake is used for a powerful STAB move. Stone Edge provides coverage against Pokemon such as Bombirdier, Scyther, and Oricorio in addition to forming the EdgeQuake combo. Stone Edge has a high critical hit rate and gets its accuracy boosted by Coil, which can be useful against opposing Coil/Bulk Up setp sweepers such as Komala, Eelektross, Dudunsparce, and Sandaconda if it used its Tera. Dragon Rush can be used for a funny option to smack Appletun and be used for the other hard hitting move since there aren’t that much Steel- and Fairy-types in the tier. Rest is used to fully restore Sandaconda’s HP and works well with Shed Skin, as you can potentially bypass the two turns of sleep Rest has.
Leftovers is used as the item to give Sandaconda some HP recovery. Tera Dragon lets Sandaconda Water, Electric, and Grass moves and can also make Dragon Rush stronger if you decide to use Dragon Rush. Tera Fairy can be used to prevent Sandaconda’s setup sweep from being stopped by Dragon Tail users named Dudunsparce, Eelektross, and Appletun. The reason this set uses Max HP and Max Speed EVs along with a Jolly Nature is so it can have some bulk while being able to outspeed slower Pokemon such as Clawitzer, Drifblim, Lurantis, and Dudunsparce.
Defensive setup for Generation 8
Ability: Shed skinItem: Sitrus berryNature: ImpishEV’s pread: 252 Defense, 252 HP, 4 Special defense
Moves:CoilSand tombBody press/Stone edgeRest
How to use:Is strighforward, the setup is specialized in dealing with enemies who mostly use the attack stat, but can work on general situations as well. Trap your oponent with Sand tomb if possible, use coil to buff your defense, attack and accuracy stats, rely on your defense to keep buffing, if your health gets low, use rest, Shed skin will aid you in waking up early, once buffed Body prees will deal huge amounts of damage and should be used primarily, however use sand tomb and rest when necessary. You can also use another move instead of body press for more general situations, something like Stone edge, but several other moves will work well.Sand tomb has two roles here, he will be used to trap the opponent and to be used offensive when necessary.
Role: Bulky Physical Sweeper
Sandaconda@ Soft SandAbility: Sand SpitEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpDImpish Nature- Earthquake (good STAB physical move)- Protect (always good) / Coil (great stat-raising move)- Skull Bash (powerful physical move)- Fire Fang (coverage)
