Gen 9 Ubers Moody StallbreakerScovillain @ LeftoversAbility: MoodyTera Type: Water / Fairy / SteelEVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Leech Seed- Substitute- Protect- Flamethrower
This set, if you get lucky Moody boosts, can be really strong. Kind of Glalie but much more focused on being a staller. Leech Seed is what mainly differentiates Scovillain from Glalie, giving it recovery every turn, and with Leftovers, this can be really annoying to take down. Substitute and Protect are here for stalling with Leftovers and Leech Seed. Flamethrower is STAB and hits Steels, Grasses, and Ices for SE damage. For Tera types, a defensive Tera is probably the best way to go. Tera Water gives nice resistances while only having 2 weaknesses. Tera Fairy gives you immunity to Dragon moves and resistance to Fighting and Knock Off and Sucker Punch. Tera Steel is Steel, having that great Toxic immunity while having a total of 11 resistances. Honestly, this mon is pretty fun. Being able to be a offensive threat with Chlorophyll Growth or Moody is a really cool 2 in 1 combo.
Gen 9 Monotype Sun Sweeper (Fire)Scovillain @ Life OrbAbility: ChlorophyllEVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 SpeNaive Nature- Growth- Fire Blast- Giga Drain- Stomping Tantrum
Scovillain is Fire’s Chlorophyll sweeper, so this set should be used on Sun Fire teams in Monotype. Growth boosts both your Attack and Special Attack by two stages in the sun. Fire Blast is for a powerful Fire STAB that also gets boosted by the sun. Giga Drain is used for the Grass STAB since it can be used outside of sun and heals off Life Orb recoil. Stomping Tantrum is used as coverage against Pokemon such as Clodsire, Iron Moth, Skeledirge, and Dragalge. Heat Rock Torkoal is a mandatory teammate for this Scovillain set.
For use in Gen 9 OU, though this set can be used in most singles formats too.Scovillain @ Life OrbAbility: ChloropyllTera Type: Fire / FairyEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeNaive Nature / Timid Nature-Fire Blast-Solar Beam / Giga Drain-Growth-Stomping Tantrun / Tera Blast
Growth enables you to get to +2 in both attacking stats, enabling Fire Blast and Solar Beam to do massive damage under sun. Giga Drain can be used in place of Solar Beam to heal Life Orb recoil and incase another weather setter swaps into your Solar Beam. Stomping Tantrum is slotted into the last moveslot to hit Fire-Types that resist your dual STAB combo. Fairy Tera instead enables you to hit Dragon-Types that also resist your dual STAB combo. If you opt to use Tera Fairy, use Timid instead of Naive.
Make sure to pair this with a Torkoal for auto sun, and pack an extra teamate to deal with Fire-Types or Dragon-Types depending on what last move you pick.

Moveset- Sunny Day- Solar Beam- Flamethrower- Giga Drain
Scovillain has a really nice move pool with plenty of good choices for both special or physical moves. For this moveset I went with a Special attack based set, with of course sunny day for set up and solar beam as a perfect match with harsh sunlight. Flamethrower is a great move along with Giga Drain which is another viable move. (And as far as tera typing goes, for this it all really depends on what you want to go for.)
Gen 9 NU Choice SpecsScovillain @ Choice SpecsAbility: ChlorophyllTera Type: FireEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Overheat- Fire Blast- Flamethrower- Solar Beam
Usually, Sun in NU uses Sun abusers such as Venusuar, Brute Bonnet, Hisuian Typhlosion, etc. However, there’s been a sun abuser being used to spice up sun teams and crank up the heat. Said abuser is the peppery villain himself, Scovillain, a ZU Pokemon who used his experience cooking in ZU’s kitchen to terrorize NU with its Specs set.
When Scovillain first started out in ZU’s kitchen, he’d burn everything into a crisp. This allowed Scovillain to learn how to useOverheat, a powerful Fire STAB that can even nuke resists such as Dragalge and Talonflame in the sun. Not wanting to burn everything in ZU’s kitchen, Scovillain managed to not overcook the food he prepares(and burn down ZU’s kitchen in the process), but it was still dangerous to burn the food. This allowed Scovillain to learn how to useFire Blast, which is used when Scovillain needs a powerful Fire STAB without having to deal with the Special Attack drop from Overheat. Finally, after some excessive training, Scovillain learned how to prepare things with the right temperatures. This allowed Scovillain to master the technique known asFlamethrower, which gives Scovillain a consistent Fire STAB that is used against weakened teams. Since Scovillain was told to go touch grass when he first started working in ZU’s kitchen, he would go outside and harness the power of the sun to useSolar Beam, which is useful against Water and Rock-types such as Swampert, Diancie, and Rhyperior.
Yes, this Specs set has 3 Fire STABs. There are a couple a reasons for this. The first reason is because the Fire STABs are used for different situations. Overheat is used if Scovillain needs the raw damage. Fire Blast is used if Scovillain needs the power but can’t afford the Special Attack drop from Overheat. These Fire STABs are used early and mid game. Flamethrower is used for a consistent Fire STAB that is used late game. The second reason is that Scovillain doesn’t have much coverage options for Special moves outside of Tera Blast. You could have another Grass move in place of Fire Blast, but you’ll rarely, if ever end up clicking that Grass move. Having more coverage doesn’t matter since this set uses Tera Fire, making Scovillain’s Fire STABs like Overheat nuke under Sun, with Specs Tera Fire Overheat in sun being able to 2HKO Dragalge for example. Timid Nature is used over Modest Nature to allow Scovillain to outspeed Choice Scarf Mienshao, the best Scarf mon in the tier, when Sun is up.
