Skuntank (M) @ Life OrbAbility: AftermathEVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpeJolly Nature- Night Slash- Poison Jab- Rock Smash- Toxic
Life Orb and EVs make this awesome Pokemon hit pretty hard. Aftermath is for the dying damage, and since most Ground moves are Physical, they’ll be taking some damage. Night Slash can crit, and Poison Jab can poison. Rock Smash is for those Steel types that are just laughing at me, and the Defense lowering is nice :D Toxic works well with this set, since the constant Defense drop can seriously tick people off, force a switch, and give this guy a chance to poison, making an even more annoying situation. Ragequit team anyone?
Skuntank @ Black SludgeAbility: AftermathEVs: 16 HP / 252 Atk / 240 SpDAdamant Nature- Defog- Taunt- Sucker Punch- Protect / Pursuit
Surprisingly, Skuntank is able to learn Defog. With a unique typing different from most Defoggers, it can easily surprise several players.
Defog is used for hazard removal.Taunt deals with hazard-setters and forces them to use an attacking move.Sucker Punch has priority and STAB. This is useful because the taunted hazard-setters would have to use an attacking move, but Skuntank can beat them with Sucker Punch.Protect is mainly used for scouting moves, but it isn’t as good as Pursuit, which can catch the hazard-setters on the switch-out. Poison Jab can also be used in this slot for dual STABS.
Note: EVs are used to make Skuntank bulky, yet still have the necessary power.
Skuntank (M) @ LeftoversAbility: AftermathEVs: 40 HP / 248 Atk / 220 SpeJolly Nature- Sucker Punch- Hone Claws- Poison Jab- Roar
Boom?
He’s got some Nice Hp, but not the nicest Hp, with about 40 Ev’s he’s bulky enough to take something neutral while setting up Hone Claws.
Hone Claw’s attack boost jacks up Sucker Punch. The Accuracy boost helps Roar,
And Poison Jab is Powerful STAB, you don’t need setting up for.
Trolly moveset
Skuntank @ Rocky HelmetEVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 DefAbility: AftermathAdamant Nature- Poison Jab- Night Slash- Toxic- Play Rough
With Rocky Helmet and Toxic, the opponent will die quickly, for the poor soul who activates Aftermath, death is close at hand.
Skuntank (M) @ Rocky HelmetAbility: AftermathShiny: YesEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeModest NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Dark Pulse- Sludge Bomb- Flamethrower- Toxic
i felt this would work for a fast special sweeper, with dark pulse and sludge bomb being STAB moves and flamethrower giving coverage to the skuntank. its aftermath ability will slice off 1/4 of the opponents health so if this Pokemon does get KOed easily theres a good aftermath towards the end. toxic is obviously to poison the opponent so the health of it will slowly slither to it being dead if it cant use antidotes. it would obviously be more of a special attacker.
timid also works for this so it wouldnt be a big deal if you didnt have modest. this is just my personal strategy so feel free to use it. leave opinions on it as well please, thanks! :D
Skuntank @ Focus SashAbility: StenchEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Nasty Plot- Sludge Bomb- Dark Pulse- Flamethrower
Nasty Plot is to boost Special Attack. Dark Pulse and Sludge Bomb are STAB moves. Flamethrower is for Steel Types.
Skuntank @ Leftovers / Lum BerryAbility: AftermathEVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe/ 4 HPJolly Nature- Sucker Punch- Toxic- Venom Drench- Explosion / Protect
It’s a revenge killer/Support, Sucker Punch to finish off weaken enemy’s. Toxic and protect to stall with leftovers.Venom Drench is good with Toxic, and Explosion if your using Lum Berry.
Gen 9 Monotype Specially Defensive (Dark)Skuntank @ Black SludgeAbility: AftermathTera Type: PoisonEVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpDCareful Nature- Toxic Spikes- Poison Jab- Sucker Punch- Protect / Fire Spin
Skuntank is an option for a specially defensive Pokemon on Dark teams should you decide to not use Kingambit. Skuntank gets Toxic Spikes in Gen 9, which allows it to spread poison against grounded Pokemon. Poison Jab is used for a Poison STAB that has a chance to inflict poison, which can be useful against Pokemon who aren’t grounded. Sucker Punch provides Skuntank with a priority Dark STAB that can pick off weakened fast wallbreakers/sweepers. Protect allows Skuntank to scout for choice locked Pokemon and get a free turn of Black Sludge recovery. Fire Spin can be used over Protect to be able to trap Klefki, which allows Skuntank to setup Toxic Spikes without having to worry about Hatterene switching in to bounce the Toxic Spikes back. Aftermath is the Ability to punish Pokemon who used a contact move to defeat Skuntank.
Skuntank Is Good In PU, I’d add It to my every team If you wanted to Play PU, It counters Misdreavus, Rabsca and Dachsbun, this Is what I would run for My Skuntank If It was on my team.
Skuntank @ Heavy-Duty BootsAbility: AftermathTera Type: PoisonEVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpDCareful Nature- Crunch- Sucker Punch- Gunk Shot- Taunt
Skuntank, joking Sucker Punch Is priority If the Opposing tries to hit the Skuntank, Crunch Is Crunchy, If you get lucky you can lower It’s Defense, Gunk Shot Is Stab and Taunt Is to stop Gabite from Setting rocks, Dachsbun from Wish Protecting and Maybe more.
You can Replace Gunk Shot with Toxic and Taunt with TS, Toxic Spikes.
