Explanation: Nasty Plot is a deadly set up, Dragon Pulse is a STAB that is preferred over Draco Meteor due to being more spammable. Hydro Pump is another strong STAB. Tera Blast is for revenge killing Fairy types while being very defensive ( Steel has 10 resistances ).

A Nasty Plot + Rapid Spin set for Water teams in Gen 9 Monotype. Nasty Plot boosts Tatsugiri’s Special Attack, giving it a more offensive presence. Rapid Spin is used to be able to get speed boosts and clear away hazards from your side of the field. Surf is used for Water STAB. Draco Meteor is used for a strong Dragon STAB, and the boosts from Nasty Plot can help from the -2 Special Attack drop from Draco Meteor. Leftovers is used to give Tatsugiri passive recovery. Storm Drain is used as the Ability since Commander is useless in Monotype since Monotype is a singles format, not a doubles format.

Tatsugiri has been seeing use as an offensive support Pokemon in Gen 9 NU for hyper offense teams. Draco Meteor is Tatsugiri’s Dragon STAB, being able to threaten Dragon-types named Goodra, opposing Tatsugiri, and Altaria. Surf is a nice Water STAB that pairs well with Tatsugiri’s Dragon STAB. Rapid Spin clears away hazards, which is useful to support Pokemon on Hyper offense teams such as Salazzle and Eviolite Scyther if you decide to use it. Memento allows Tatsugiri to lower the attacking stats of opposing Pokemon at the cost of sacrificing it. White Herb allows Tatsugiri to negate the Special Attack drop from Draco Meteor after it uses it once. Tera Fairy allows Tatsugiri to become immune to Dragon moves.
