Vikavolt @ Focus SashAbility: LevitateShiny: YesEVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Bug Buzz- Thunder / Thunderbolt- Flash Cannon- Agility
You know the drill. Dual STAB plus Flash Cannon is excellent coverage, the rest is simple. Not awful Speed if used in NU.
So, if you would rather not invest all 252 in Speed, an alternate set I thought of would be:
EVs: 20 Def / 252 SpA / 236 Speed.
Unboosted, this has a total of 199 Speed. This, at +2, should be enough to outdo Jolly/Timid Choice Scarfed or +1 Pokemon up to base 71 Speed. That sounds alright in NU, right? Plus, those Defense EVs will come in more handy than you think on neutral hits.
Vikavolt @ Choice ScarfAbility: LevitateEVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpeModest Nature- Thunderbolt- Bug Buzz- Energy Ball- Volt Switch
I know this is a fairly standard set, but it seems to work for me. I’ve tested extensively on Showdown. I run a team with Sticky Web, and it’s evs allow it to outspeed most sweepers, even with them having a speed boosting nature, minus a Scarf. I love the versatility in terms of how many types get hit hard by a base 145 Sp Atk. I chose Energy Ball over Hidden Power, to abuse the fact it can safely switch in on a ground type move, as long as the Pokemon using it, doesn’t have Mold Breaker. It then gains the ability to hard switch out, or Volt Switch out, giving it great momentum building.
Contrary to other people’s opinions, a Scarf is a viable option, with the right team support. A team with other hazard setters, and a Rapid Spin user, could provide a great balance.
Vikavolt @ Iapapa BerryAbility: LevitateLevel: 50EVs: 252 HP / 68 Def / 28 SpA / 156 SpD / 4 SpeModest NatureIVs: 0 Atk– Thunderbolt– Bug Buzz– String Shot– Protect
This VGC set is fantastic, it tanks even 252+ Sp. Atk arcanine and offers great support with string shot giving -2 to ALL your opponents pokèmon in speed. Having 145 base Sp Atk can take down the majority of the pokèmon that doesn’t resist electric in 2 hits so it doesn’t need lot of Sp. Atk. investments. The iapapa berry grants 50% of health recovery when the hp go down 25%.
Charjabug @ EvioliteAbility: BatteryEVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SpDImpish / Careful Nature• Sticky Web• Toxic• Protect• X-Scissor
• Sticky Web: Good hazard• Toxic: Great for a Pokémon that cant deal great damage with attacks• Protect: For toxic to damage more• X-Scissor: STAB
Gen 8 ZUVikavolt @ Choice SpecsAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpDQuiet NatureIVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe- Thunderbolt- Air Slash- Bug Buzz- Energy BallExplanation:This set is for Trick Room teams. Thunderbolt and Bug Buzz are STAB moves. Air Slash is for coverage and has a chance to make opponents flinch. Energy Ball is for Rock type coverage. With a high Special Attack stat with Choice Specs in Trick Room, this can do some good sweeping.
Gen 8 NUVikavolt @ Heavy-Duty BootsAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 100 SpA / 156 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Substitute- Bug Buzz- Thunderbolt- Roost
SubRoost set. Substitute can protect you from status conditions. Bug Buzz is STAB and can damage Pokemon that used Substitute. Thunderbolt is STAB that hits Pokemon like Vaporeon and Mantine super effectively. Roost is for healing. 252 EVs is to help maximize bulk. 156 Speed EVs allow you to outspeed Pokemon like Vaporeon, Mantine, Jellicent, and Glastrier. I dumped the rest of the rest of the EVs into Special Attack, but you can put some EVs into Defense, then dump the rest into Special Attack, depending on if you want to do more damage or keep your Sub up longer but do less damage.
Vikavolt@ Life OrbAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpeModest NatureIVs: 0 Spe- Thunderbolt- Bug Buzz- HP Water- Flash Cannon / Energy Ball / Air Slash
I love his amazing Special Attack and great movepool, but the only thing that Saddens me is that he has such a Low speed that a Choice Scarf on it won’t change anything. So 252 EVs in Hp was the obvious choice to allow him to survive hits before attacking. Thunderbolt and Bug Buzz for STAB, while HP Water covered both of his weakness : Rock and Fire. The others are coverages.
I mainly use him in my Trick Room team, since he is very slow (like 90% of the Alolan Pokemon) and this is the set I use
Vikavolt @ Choice SpecsAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpAModest NatureIVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe- Bug Buzz- Thunderbolt- Volt Switch- Hidden Power [Water]
Vikavolt @ Sitrus BerryAbility: LevitateEVs: 128 HP / 128 Def / 252 SpAModest Nature- Thunderbolt- Energy Ball- Flash Cannon- Signal Beam
EV reason: The moveset is purely Sp. Atk based and the Sp. Def and HP aren’t very high.Nature reason: Modest has low attack, which doesn’t matter for the moveset, and high Sp. Atk.
Gen 8-(This set needs an extra setup Pkmn first.)

Vikavolt@ Zoom LensAbility: LevitateEVs: 126Def/ 252SpA/ 130SpDSassy NatureIVs: 0 Spe- Bug Buzz- Roost- Volt Switch / Flash Cannon- Zap Cannon
(Faint booing in the background)OKAY, let me explain. Vikavolt isslow, but has greatSpA. To take advantage of that, I came across one of Vikavolt’s most powerful moves:Zap Cannon. It has 120 Power, and an 100% chance to paralyze. But of course, it has a catch.50% Accuracy. That’shorrible, & Wide Lens only gives 1.1x Accuracy.But. Zoom Lens gives 1.2x Accuracy if the user movesafterthe target. This works well for Vikavolt. But to give it more bulk, I added a Clefairy setup, &Def&SpDEVs to Vikavolt. Other moves are obvious.
(Feedback is appreciated.)
Gen 8Vikavolt @ Heavy-Duty BootsAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 SpABold NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Air Slash- Volt Switch- Sticky Web- Roost
Bulky Sticky Web setter. Air Slash is for an attack move. Volt Switch is also STAB and is for pivoting. Sticky Web is to provide speed control for your team. Roost if for healing.
Vikavolt-Totem (M) @ Weakness PolicyAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeModest NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Bug Buzz- Thunderbolt- Hidden Power [Ice]/Energy Ball- AgilityBug Buzz is STAB. Thunderbolt is also STAB. HP Ice can OHKO Garchomp and Landorus, who otherwise could wall it. Alternatively, Energy Ball could be used to take on Quagsire, Gastrodon, and Swampert. Agility is used to boost its speed, so it can not only outspeed everything after you use agility twice, it will wreck havoc after a boost to its special attack.
Vikavolt @ Heavy-Duty BootsAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 HP / 172 SpA / 84 SpeModest NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Thunderbolt- Energy Ball- Toxic- Roost
Vikavolt’s niche on Bug-type teams in SS Monotype being pretty much a bulkier Galvantula that has a base 145 Special Attack and can last longer, which is useful to help with Mono Bug’s Flying and Water matchups. While Vikavolt a drawback of having a base 43 Speed stat, its 77/90/75 bulk makes up for it, which is better than Galvantula’s 70/60/60 bulk.
Vikavolt’s main moves for this set are Thunderbolt, Energy Ball, and Toxic. Toxic alongside Thunderbolt is useful vs Flying teams, as Toxic allows you to cripple Pokemon who are immune to Thunderbolt such as Landorus-Therian and Thundurus-Therian. Toxic is also useful for more bulkier Pokemon such as Kantonian Zapdos and Bulky Dragon Dance Dragonite. Energy Ball allows you to deal super effective damage to Ground-types such as Gastrodon, Swampert, Mamoswine, and Seismitoad. Energy Ball alongside Thunderbolt is useful for Water teams. Roost is used to provide Vikavolt with a form of reliable HP recovery.
Heavy-Duty Boots is used as the item so Vikavolt can avoid Stealth Rock damage provided your boots don’t get Knocked Off. 252 HP EVs is used to give Vikavolt bulk. 84 Speed EVs allow Vikavolt to outspeed -Speed Nature Celesteela. The rest of the EVs are used in Special Attack. Modest Nature is used to increase Vikavolt’s firepower.
Vikavolt Sweeper
Vikavolt @ Blunder PolicyAbility: LevitateTera: ElectricEVs: 252 Spe / 4 HP / 252 AtkLonely nature- Discharge- Bulldoze- Zap Cannon- Guillotine
Blunder policy will likely activate for zap cannon and guillotine, bulldoze is coverage, discharge is stab.
Vikavolt @ Expert BeltAbility: LevitateEVs: 252 Special Attack/ 200 Special Defense/ 56 DefenseModest Nature
Expert Belt is to boost the power of super effective moves. This combined with Vikavolt’s 145 Special Attack makes it a monster. Thunderbolt and Bug Buzz are for STAB while Air Slash and Energy Ball are for coverage. I hope you enjoy this set!
