Vivillon @ LeftoversAbility: Compound EyesEVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HPTimid Nature- Sleep Powder- Quiver Dance- Hurricane- Hidden Power [Ground]
NU. Good alternative to Butterfree. Stats aren’t that much different either, but better movepool.
Vivillon @ Choice SpecsAbility: Compound EyesEV: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HPModest Nature- Hurricane- Bug Buzz- Draining Kiss- Energy Ball
Full Power!Attention: Use this in doubles with Tailwind support.2 STAB: Hurricane and Bug Buzz for the win! Draining Kiss can make up about SR damage and overall is not bad, while Energy Ball is coverage purpose.
Everyone is like
Must have Bug Buzz and Hurricane.
Anyways, Vivillon was my main team member in the games. I. freaking. love her. She gets murdered by stealth rock, which is her downfall.
Lead Cannon (Vivillon) @ LeftoversAbility: Compound EyesEVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpAModest Nature- Sleep Powder- Roost- Quiver Dance- Bug Buzz
Or Strongerthanglass-cannon. This is a bulky Vivillon. Wtsf. Yeah.I decided that I wanted a Vivillon that could actually be able to use the niche it has. Using low accuracy moves to start setting up. The problem with this gal is she is so frail that setting up doesn’t work out well. That’s why I ran this investment; she doesn’t need the EVs in QD boosted stats. Do not use this as a lead, do not use this to hard switch. Use it to sack, or go all out.
Sleep Powder is boosted by Compound Eyes and Vivillon isn’t slow. It gives you at least one free turn. Start QDing up. Be aggressive, don’t fear a wake up. Lefties will keep you at enough health. Bug Buzz at +6 will OHKO most unresisted and hit everything like a truck. Once you take a hit that doesn’t OHKO, roost.
It is very easy to be taken down with this. I would not recommend it for HO. She needs support from team members, but she can still hold her ground against para at +6 sdef.
Because this is Anything Goes, you can spam Sleep Powder because of the complete lack of Sleep Clause. The objective is simple, really. Thanks to Compound Eyes, Sleep Powder’s almost as accurate as Spore, and you also outspeed Smeargle leads that are incredibly common in AG. Use Sleep Powder on whatever unsuspecting poor soul begins the match. If you outspeed them, throw up a substitute. If not, use Quiver Dance and then throw up a substitute. Proceed to set up Quiver Dance while your poor opponent spends nearly the entire match asleep. Those defense EVs are required to make sure you don’t get immediately blown away on turn 1 since you don’t have a Focus Sash. Leftovers are also required so you don’t chip yourself to death from Substitute and residual damage. After you’ve boosted enough, go to town with Hurricane, which has roughly 91% accuracy and does massive damage to everything in the tier not named Stakataka. Works best as a lead so you can Spore a poor unsuspecting Shuckle or uninvested Primal Groudon. You can use it in the late game as a cleaner, I guess, but if stealth rocks are up it might as well be dead. Hurricane is chosen over Bug Buzz for its higher power and ability to hit the uncommon Shedinja.
Vivillon isn’t without flaws and there’s a lot to talk about. Grass types are immune to Sleep Powder, and a bulky one like Arceus-Grass or Ferrothorn can cut its sweep short because Hurricane without boosts is pretty weak. Pokemon faster than it can blow it away on turn 1, rare leads like Forretress and Cloyster are completely immune to Sleep Powder if they’re running Overcoat instead of Sturdy/Skill Link, moves and abilities that can ignore substitutes give it troubles, almost every Choice Scarfer in the game outspeeds Vivillon at +1 or even +2, it can’t touch Chansey or the multitude of specially bulky Pokemon in the tier, Whirlwind and Roar destroy it, especially with hazards up, Lugia stonewalls it if it’s able to pick up opportunities to spam Roost, and because this is AG, just about everything can one shot Vivillon even with +6 special defense. There’s more flaws to list, believe me, but if you know what you’re doing and you’re out to truly piss off the ladder as the enemy’s Geomancy boosted Xerneas or Mega Rayquaza dies a slow, pitiful death to National Dex #666, you can have quite some fun.
You can piss off your friends with the set, too, but this doesn’t work in lower tiers because of Sleep Clause.
Gen 9 NU Quiver DanceVivillon @ Heavy-Duty BootsAbility: Compound EyesTera Type: Fire / GroundEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Sleep Powder- Quiver Dance- Hurricane- Tera Blast
The (demonic) butterfly of NU has returned in NU once again. Vivillon can use Heavy-Duty Boots, so it doesn’t take damage from Stealth Rock provided its boots doesn’t get Knocked Off. Sleep Powder allows Vivillon to put opposing Pokemon to sleep, giving it more opportunities to setup with Quiver Dance to break through teams. Hurricane is used for a powerful Flying STAB that has better accuracy thanks to Compound Eyes. Tera Blast Fire / Ground gives Vivillon good coverage. Tera Blast Fire allows Vivillon to deal super effective damage to Steel-types such as Copperajah and Pokemon who use Tera Steel such as Abomasnow, Qwilfish, and Eelektross. Tera Blast Ground allows Vivillon to hit Steel- and Rock-types such as Lycanroc, Copperajah, Tera Steel Abomasnow/Qwilfish/Eelektross, and Tera Rock Paldean Tauros. Tera Ground also turns Vivillon’s omega Stealth Rock weakness into a resist.
Vivillon @ LeftoversAbility: Compound EyesEV: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HPModest Nature- Sleep Powder- Bug Buzz- Hurricane- Quiver Dance
Now this is a rare set to use, but with sub, it can set up on much more
Vivillion @ LeftoversAbility: Compound EyesEVs: 4 HP/ 252 SpA/ 252 speModest Nature- Substitute- Quiver Dance- Sleep Powder- Bug Buzz
Once you eliminate checks, this thing is incredibly hard to counter. If this was in gen 5 RU, think of what it can set up on. Slowking, Tangrowth, etc. Sub makes it much better.
Vivuvu (Vivillon) @ Choice SpecsAbility: Compound EyesEVs: 252 SpA / 252 SpeTimid Nature- Bug Buzz- Giga Drain- Hurricane- Hidden Power [Water]
Just a specs set for Vivillon. I tested it out and it deals enough damage. Also, The only Pokémon that resists all of it’s moves is Dialga, Which is pretty cool since it means You’ll be neutral effective on basically everything.
Vivillon @ Focus Sash / Choice ScarfAbility: Compound EyesEVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 HPTimid Nature- Sleep Powder / Draining Kiss- Quiver Dance / Energy Ball- Bug Buzz- Hurricane
First set/second set. SleepDance combo works like an average Smeargle (Spore/Quiver Dance), with the exception of this set attacks after 1 Quiver Dance.Second set works like a regular scarf set. If this guy comes in with low HP, he’ll need to OHKO or use Draining Kiss to keep health up. He really needs a rapid spinner/defogger to help him, as he has a 4X weakness to SR.
Vivillion @ Focus SashAbility: Compund EyesEVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HPTimid Nature- Sleep Powder- Quiver Dance- Hurricane- Bug Buzz
Vivillion @ Life Orb/ Focus SashAbility: Compound EyesEVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HPModest Nature- Quiver Dance- Hurricane- Bug Buzz- Sleep Powder
Drop the Sleep Powder first to draw to sleep then get as many Quiver Dances (Raises Special Attack, Special Defense, & Speed) up as possible one is needed but if you wanna get greedy go for two. Three is too many and most likely will wake up by then so 2 is more than enough. Then start sweeping with STAB Hurricane and/or Bug Buzz. Hope I helped!
Ultimate Trolling Spewpa!
WARNING! Use only with +6 SpD, SpA, and Att! Ingrain/Aqua Ring is also recommended.
Spewpa @ EvioliteAbility: Shed SkinEVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 156 SpDSassy Nature- Poison Powder- Iron Defense / Protect- Electro Web- Bug Bite
Start with a Poison Powder. Then go with a Protect to make the opponent hurt more, or start Iron Defensing. Then attack with either Electroweb or Bug Bite (Protect every other turn if you have it)!
Vivillon @ Focus Sash / Wide LensAbility: Compound EyesEVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HPTimid Nature- Hurricane- Sleep Powder- Infestation- Energy Ball
Vivillon @ Focus Sash / Silk ScarfAbility: Compound EyesEVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HPTimid Nature- Bug Buzz- Hurricane- Energy Ball / Giga Drain- Hidden Power [Ground]
This moveset has helped me out a lot against other players, especially my friends in double battles. The Silk Scarf is self-explanatory with Hidden Power in the moveset. I keep seeing too many stalling movesets for Vivillon when it can’t survive one attack without a Focus Sash, which is unfortunate.
Enjoy the moveset, just be aware of Ice-types when using it.
Gen 9 Monotype Quiver Dance (Bug)Vivillon-Fancy @ Focus SashAbility: Compound EyesEVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 SpeTimid NatureIVs: 0 Atk- Sleep Powder- Quiver Dance- Hurricane- Energy Ball
The standard Vivillon set for Bug teams in Gen 9 Monotype. Sleep Powder is used to put slower Pokemon to sleep to give you the opportunity to use Quiver Dance to boost your Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. Hurricane is used for a powerful Flying STAB that has increased accuracy due to Compound Eyes. Energy Ball is used to hit Water-types such as Gastrodon, Dondozo, Slowking, and Quagsire super effectively, which helps in the Water matchup. Focus Sash is used to help setup since Forretress is used on Bug teams for a hazard remover.
