So as our lord Fizz told in his comment, Infernape’s name origin cames from “Inferno” and “Ape” while its origin seems to be based upon a monkey. Precisely, its Japanese name is related to Son Goku.

This what I got from Bulbapedia’spageon Infernape. I personally believe in the Hanuman theory, as well, I’m an Indian and Infernape looks strikingly similar to Hanuman and its typing is also like that (One legend says that Hanuman ate the Sun for a snack).
