What is the lore behind Terapagos?
Sooo this might sound stupid to some people but I remember when I used to read Stephen King novels the whole basis for the storyline of Pennywise was that he was scared of this big floating turtle that held up the universe. This seems very similar to Terapagos’s Stellar Form, and I am wondering not if there is any relation, but what is the basis for this Pokemon’s universal design that seems recurrent in popular culture?

Terapagos, the Legendary Pokémon released in the Indigo Disk DLC, is thought to be inspired by the mythical creature known as theWorld Turtle, which was believed to carry the whole world on it’s back. It appears in Chinese, Indian and Native American mythology.
The “World Turtle” aspect of Terapagos is highlighted by it’s Stellar Form, which resembles a huge globe. It’s shell also looks like the Paldea region, with the star marking at the top appearing as theGreat Crater.
Terapagos’s name comes from the conjunction of the word"Tera"(meaning “Earth”) andGalapagos, a species of tortoise in the East Pacific. This makes it’s name perfectly translate as"World Turtle", underlining its connection to the myth.
