What is the Nidoran line based on?

Nidoran appears to be based on a porcupine, rabbit, mouse, or a hamster, as seen by their aggressive nature towards one another.-Nidoran>Nidoqueen shares traits of rhinoceroses, gorillas, rabbits and porcupines. Basically a mix of a few small creatures, then some parts ressembling rhinos and gorillas.

I wouldnt call them any one specific animal but more of a Hybrid of a few to make an Apex Predator like Pokemon.

Actually, I believe it is aPacanara, then evolves into aArtigasia Magna. Considering its moveset, it can eventually learnsurf, which both species are seen as wetland animals. Nidoqueen is also very distinctive of her physical characteristics: can stand, gigantic, and wears a bikini armor. She is also described to have high maternal instincts, of whichArtigasia Magnahas, as it is the ancestor ofCapybaras. ThePacanara’sfur pattern resembles the dots on her hind legs, along with its viral behavior, bathing in nature. Check them out on youtube, it seems to betaking a shower like a human!
