What value does STAB give the 1.5x multiplier to?

I know that stab increase the move of the same type of the Pokemon by 1.5But is that pretty much the same thing as their attack/sp attack being stronger by 1.5 and the move power stays the same?Ex. Lets say steelix had attack stat of 200. And earthquake is 150 power with stab. But is that pretty much the same thing with his attacking being 300 because of the 1.5 boost and the earthquake stays 100 power? And would the amount of damage be the same for 150 earthquake with 200Atk and 100 Earthquake with 300 Atk? I really dont get the difference between move power and attack/special attack power

Attacking stats and moves’ BP are two completely different things in damage calculation.

Damage calculation is a complicated and intricate process, with many factors including offensive stats, STAB, BP, abilities, terrain, weather, opponents’ defensive stats, and more.

For example, here’s a picture of the Gen 5-9 damage calculation:

As you can see, STAB is a multiplier after the parentheses, meaning that STAB is applied after level, BP, level, and attack/defense stats. UsingPEMDAS,we notice that attack/defense stats and BP are multiplied with each other in the parentheses. In your first example with Steelix, you solve the first set of parentheses, which in a normal case would be 42. You multiply 42 by EQ’s BP of 100, getting 4200. Then, you multiply 4200 by Steelix’s Atk stat divided by the opponent’s Def stat, which let’s say is 200. 4200 x 200/200 is 4200. You then divide 4200 by 50 to get 84, and add 2 to get 86. From there, you multiply the rest of the modifiers, such as weather, ra 129ndom, and STAB. Let’s say that there is no terrain, weather, or other modifier applicable other than STAB and random. STAB is a 1.5x modifier, so 86 x 1.5 is 129. From 129, the game randomly chooses an integer from 85 to 100, and divides that integer by 100. You multiply that product by 129, and that last number, rounded down, and that would be how many HP is lost on the opponent’s side. Here’s a damage calc result to prove my own calculation:

Now, to properly answer your question:

STAB applies its 1.5x modifier after a parenthetical expression that contains the variables of level, Atk/Def, and BP. STAB applies at the same times as other modifiers such as weather, terrain, type effectiveness, etc. This means that a Steelix with a 200 Atk stat with 100 EQ + STABdoes notdeal the same amount of damage as another Pokémon with 300 Atk and EQ + no STAB, even without other modifiers.

The Attack stat is a stat which determines the power of a physical move. Basically, the higher your Attack stat, the more damage your Moves will cause. STAB has no relationship with the Attack stat because this occurs with all Types. The same goes for the Special Attack stat. So in your example, Steelix’s Earthquake causes more damage the higher it’s Attack stat is, not how it compares to the STAB boost.

Move power is the percentage of your base stat power that it is able to draw out of your Pokemon. In your first scenario, Steelix draws 150% from his base attack stat (200) because of the STAB increase, so technically his total attack becomes 300. With your second scenario, steelix draws 100% from his base attack (300) without STAB. The damage dealt would equal the same. So yes, it is theoretically the same thing.

let’s me help u, it’s quite simple like :- Move Power is the PErcentages of your Current Attacking STATS (Attack or Spe.A) that will then be multiplied with the compatible Type of STAT (ATk or Spe.A) in result of an Exact number which represents the Total Damage ur Strikes on that turn.- For example :—– Mega Beedrill has Base Attack Stat : 150- it strikes an U-turn (Base Power 70 x 2 = 140 due to Adaptability) on his Round- ====> So will have a total Damage releasing of : 150 x 140% =210 total Units of Damage
