Which does more damage a STAB attack or a super effective move?
If the STAB attack is not super effective or ineffective, which does more damage?

A Super Effective move. Supper Effective moves multiply the attack by 2 to 4 times (200% to 400%), depending on the type combination, while STAB moves only multiply an attack by 0.5 (50%)"… STAB, is a 50% damage boost of an attack when it is the same type as one of the types of the Pokémon using the attack" (http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Same-type_attack_bonus)
So, If a move does 100 Battle Points (BPs) of Damage normally like the Normal Move Egg Boom then if it is used by a Normal Pokémon like Chansey then the move would deal 150BP.100BP + 50BP= 150BP100BP x 50% = 50BP
Were as if you had a Chansey (the Normal type) use the Ground type move Earthquake with 100 BP against a Pikachu (an Electric type that has a weakness to Ground type moves of x2) the damage would be:100BP x 2 = 200BP
Were as if Golem used Earthquake against Pickachu the damage would be:(100BP + (100BP x 50%)) x 2 = 300BP
I hope this is the answer you were looking for. Good Luck
