Why are female Unfezants said to surpass males?

I understand that females are better than males because of the less weight they have on their head compared to males, but why would its Pokedex entry mention the said skills but not abilities. Pokemon are born with abilities, but can learn skills from training.

While its pre-evolutions resemble wildpigeons, Unfezant most closely resembles agamebird, such as agreen pheasant,turkeyortragopan. It is also similar in appearance to thegreater roadrunner. Gamebird/Galliformes:

Males of most species are more colorful than the females. Males often have elaborate courtship behaviors that include strutting, fluffing of tail or head feathers, and vocal sounds. They are mainly non-migratory.

Green Pheasant:

The green pheasant also known as Japanese pheasant, is native to the Japanese Archipelago, to which it is endemic. The male (cock) has dark green plumage on the breast and mantle. The male also has an iridescent violet neck, red bare facial skin and purplish green tail. The female is smaller than the male and has plumage ranging from light brown with dark spots to an all over dark brown.

It is just the Pokedex entry. The female apparently flies better than the male does, but their battling skills don’t actually differ at all. It is the same Pokemon after all.
