Why don't my Pokemon's stats change when I EV train in Sword?

I have been trying to do ev training to get a Pokemon that is strong but every time I send the Pokemon out then back it’s stats haven’t changed at all and the first time I did it was for a level 1 Pokemon so can anyone help me out please

Every 4 EVs obtained in a particular stat equals one more point for that stat, by the time that Pokémon reaches level 100.At low levels you may not see all the points added straight away.If your Pokémon is at a high level you will see a lot of additional points going on to the appropriate stats at each level up.

As sumwun said, you can just max EVs easily by using lots of Vitamins (can be bought for 2BP at the battle shop) and the EV wings. Also, you can use the Power Items, Power Weight (HP), Power Bracer (Attack), Power Belt (Defense), Power Lens (Sp. Attack), Power Band (Sp. Defense), or Power Anklet (Speed).
