Why is Jolly the most common nature for Mega Lopunny?

1 minute read

According to Pokémon Global Link’s Lopunny statistics, 88.9% of all Lopunny on Battle Spot run aJollynature, while the other 11.1% runAdamant. Lopunny’s already sitting pretty at 135 Speed, outspeeding a heckuva lot of Pokémon and giving it the fastest Fake Out in the game. It’s Attack stat’s not too shabby either, a higher-than-average base 136. Since Mega Lopunny is so rediculously fast, what is there to lose by using Adamant and not Jolly?

Well, duh…

Lopunny runsPhysical Sets(you’ve ever seen aSPECIALattacking Lopunny?), and since it hassoooooooomuch speed, you need a nature to help it speed out Adamant EV trained 252 Speed Lopunnys (or something like that).

Because then you would have no advantage of itsDEADLYspeed, and then you might get KOed by something (if not careful). But still, no advantage what so ever.

So that’s why those 88.9% of use Jolly, to take advantage of itsrediculouslyfast speed.

EDIT: Since I found out it couldn’t learn Swords Dance by TM, I decided thatPower-Up Punchcould help it maximize it’s attack.

Here’s a movesets for competitive:

Lopunny@Lopunnite (or it’s Mega Stone name (can’t spell it >.>))Jolly NatureEVs: 252 attack / 252 SpeedAbility: Cute Charm -> Scrappy- Power-Up Punch (To maximize its attack)- High Jump Kick/Protect (whichever you want)- Return (Maximized when Mega Evolved)- Toxic (filler move, to cripple if not…)/ Substitute (take some pain, take no damage)/Baton Pass (Maximized Attack = Deadly Attacker on the next turn)
