Why isn't Doduo a Pokemon revived from a Fossil?

If Dodos (Doduos) are extinct along with Pterodactyls (Aerodactyls) and T-Rexes (Tyrantrums), why those birds weren’t revived from fossils instead as well?

Because Dodos became extinctmuchlater than dinosaurs.

Dodos became extinct atabout 1662.Meanwhile, dinosaurs became extinct about66 million years ago! This is about a 65,998,338 year gap. Should two creatures, one with fossils that haven’t even fully developed, both be considered Fossilmon?

Also, it is more based off on an Ostrich, and has traits of a Moa, Kiwi and Emu.

gamefreak made it that way.

simple as it is. tyranitar, venusaur, skarmory, nidoking and haxorus is all based of dinosaurs, but they couldn’t make any Pokemon based of dinosaurs into fossils. and doduo is more based of ostrich than a dodo imo

Despite its name, it seems like it has more in common with ostriches than dodos.

Doduo’s are not extinct in the anime or games. And they are based on ostriches more so than dodos.>Despite its name, it seems like it has more in common with ostriches than dodos. It also seems to show some similarity to the moa, an extinct flightless bird indigenous to New Zealand, and the emu, another flightless bird. It also resembles the kiwi in some ways as well.
