Why won't Poke Transfer Lab work?

I’m trying to use the Poke Transfer Lab in White 2 to bring up three Pokemon from Platinum: Shinx, Giratina, and Porygon-Z. I insert Platinum into my second DS, start the process on White 2, and go to Download Play on the Platinum DS to download “Poke Transfer ID: 48498”, exactly what the games tell me to do. The White 2 game says its “sending data to the second DS”, while the Platinum DS says “Loading…”. After about thirty seconds of both messages, White 2 terminates the program, and the scientist says an error occurred. The Platinum DS says “There aren’t 6 Pokemon in the PC Boxes for Poke Transfer to catch.”

I had exactly six Pokemon in PC Box 1 when I first got the error message. Afterwards, I tried putting a Bibarel in to make seven Pokemon total, but the same error message displayed. Poke Transfer worked flawlessly when I used HeartGold a few months ago, but after 4+ attempts it fails to connect to Platinum. Both 3DS are connected to the Internet, and neither cartridge is fake.

What’s going on, and how can I fix it?

Make sure your 6 Pokémon don’t have HMs

For anyone in the future with this issue, here’s a trouble shooting guide:

Try again with another gen 4 game. See if it works.If yes, it’s an issue with your Gen 4 game.If no, it’s an issue with your consoles or your Gen 5 game.

Make sure the following:- It’s in box one- there’s no hms

If you can’t get it to work with one (1) gen 4 game, but it works with another, trade your Pokémon to the working game and send them up that way.
